Hey ladies, I am starting this research now before surgery comes close (I was told that I have to wait a year no question, no ifs, ands or buts -__-)

But what are some proven techniques or options to reduce or even eliminate scars after vaginoplasty surgery?

Scars, what scars.  Here I'll show you...just kidding.  Don't have any visible vertical scarring. Those are in the folds of the outer labia.  I do unfortunately have two 1/2 inch scars that jet out left, right near the top of the vagina opening at base of pubic area.  Although they are fading fast.

Guys seem intrigued with them, touching and rubbing them....bizarre.  Not visible at all but one can fell it as a raised bump.  One guy thought it was a bug bite...does look like one.  Pubic hair helps stealth the issue.

So why the odd scars?  Surgeon said it had to do with the shape of the pelvic area and done to spare me a second operation.  Excessive skin in pubic area?
I had lost 15 pounds since starting HRT so perhaps through muscle and fat loss I was in need of a tuck down under.  :P

Scar reduction.  Post-op scar care included only injection of a steroid into one of the raised scars.  In hindsight both could have used treatment.  Perhaps I can go back and get some more steroid treatment.

So I just looked down there.  Yep, scars are almost gone and only one side (untreated) still has a slight bump.  I would expect in a few more months they will all be gone.  Skin tone of scar now matches surrounding area.

At one point surgeon did offer to cut out the scars....ouch...no thank you.

I have seen vertical scars in pictures of women who underwent SRS.  I was very much expecting to see the same on me.  I assume it comes down to what technique is used by surgeon.  Or more likely everyone is different.

Thank you,
Anne

Some poeple use coconut oil and give it a massage twice a day ...

another possibility is silicone pads but they need to be used for a few weeks ...

I do use coconut oil for dilation.  End up rubbing some around vagina area since it tends to get everywhere.  Massaging scars ends up leading to.....:)

LOL .

Coconut oil has small molecules. It can enter the tissue and help soften, and a massage might also soften the tissue and might even out some.
