Terrible cramps after years on T

Hey guys, I've been on T for 2or3 years, not sure now, and last night I had terrible cramps. I freaked out that the period will come back, it didn't yet. A few times I had cramps, but really light, and lasted for a few minutes, but this was so strong and didn't go away until I took a painkiller. I wanted to ask my doc if it's normal, but he's abroad on vacation 'til the beginning of may :/
Has this happened to anyone and should I be worried?

Are these leg cramps or stomach cramps? Sorry for asking but the extra info could help narrow down the correct response. Even though your regular doctor is away it might be a good idea to see someone if it persists and/or gets worse.

Stomach cramps. I'm trying to see an endo on thursday but in the meantime I'm still anxious about it, so I figured to ask.

I will qualify my experience with the fact that I had PCOS and endometriosis so my case may not relate altogether.

I had the same issue. My problems with pain got better soon after I started T but returned after about 6 months and continued to worsen. the doctor I see for my hormones said that some guys just continue to have problems and that the only true "cure" (when they can't identify any other cause) is to have a hysterectomy. I have wanted a hysterectomy since I was 16 anyway (I had a couple surgeries due to the pain and cramping before I started T). I saw my GP and they made sure there were no masses or other issues. Other than some free fluid (which they assume was a ruptured cyst) everything else looked normal. I ended up seeing OB and did have a hysterectomy (complete including ovaries and tubes, etc) at about 16 months on T. That was 13 months ago. Since I recovered from that, I have had no recurrence of the pain and cramping I did before.

I would encourage you to get it checked out to ensure your T levels are good and there isn't something else going on. However, anecdotally, I've heard that it's not super abnormal for guys to have this come back up again. But better to be safe.

Yeah, happened to me about 2 years on T.  It is not uncommon.  Some people bleed again, some just have cramping.  I had both.  Fortunately all of the offending parts have now been removed, so no more of that to deal with.  I had a gigantic benign fibrous tumor in there...  You might want to see a doc about it eventually.

I've had cramps on T. I think it started around month 11 and comes and goes.  I asked my doc about it and she said that it's not uncommon. I'm looking at getting my hysto in the next year or so. I've never had a diagnosis of anything, but my doctor, based on my blood tests when I had to go off T for a year, thinks I have pcos.

Always talk to your doctor about any concerns though. Just because other guys experience it doesn't mean you should ignore it or assume it's normal.  It's always better to play it safe and stay healthy.

I had some cramping around 13 months on T. Shark week never came back. I had a total hysterectomy + BSO at 14 months on T, and the biopsy came back normal. No issues whatsoever, no atrophy, etc.

When I asked my doctor about the cramping, she said it was impossible to know for sure but could possibly be explained if it had happened at a low point in my shot cycle. It was so far after the fact that I'm not sure, but may be something to consider.

I never had my period again after my first shot of T. Two years later and I sometimes get stomach aches and minor cramping once in awhile before my shot but no bleeding or spotting.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Cramping didn't come back, and no bleeding, that's great. When I wasn't on T I had these painful cramps when my T levels were high for a woman, so I thought they are low now, and I should get a shot soon. I had to go to a gyno a year ago in the hospital when they found out I'm trans, everything was fine back then, but I guess that's a long time ago to know for sure I'm still fine. I have no desire to go back :D Tomorrow I'll see an endo who knows about my background, since my doc is out of the office for a long time. She said it's safe to have those parts for 5 years while on T, and if I would have enough money, I would get rid of them, but no chance for that in the near future.
Thanks for the replies, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one. It was strange because the shark week went away right after starting T and never really had any mentionable pain.

I've been on T for 5 years.

I still get cramps every now and then. Not uncommon, as others have said. Take some motrin and make sure you get proper check-ups to make sure everything is going well.

I didn't have problems with pain and cramping until right around the five-year mark. I knew that I should have had hysto by then, but I was underemployed and had health insurance issues. Anyway, I had problems very often right after an intense orgasm; unfortunately, I still had a pretty high sex drive, so I went through a lot of unpleasantness.

I figure that my internal organs were simply starting to show the strain of being on the wrong juice for so long. Some guys are on T for longer without hysto, and they don't suffer from similar symptoms. I'm sure that some guys have symptoms earlier.

Definitely get checked out because it's hard to tell what's going on in there without an exam.

I've suffered a lot of pain like that off and on throughout time, I've been on t for almost three years. I got prescribed the depo shot after around 6-8 months of first being on t, which helped but didn't erase the problem. I went off depo this January by doctor recommendation. I find that I mostly experience strong, bad aching and cramping post-orgasm, it could last anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour... it seems like the only known solution is to get some type of reproductive organ removal such as a hysto. eventually I plan on an oopherectomy and hope that solves the issue

Yep, mine also started after an orgasm, but I didn't think they are related. It seems like they are, which sucks :'D
Arch, can I ask how many years were you on T without having a hysto? My current job gives me a lot of mental crap, to the point where I'm thinking of quitting, doesn't matter if I find a new one, so I won't be able to have surgery for a while.
Endo said what you guys did, that it's not surprising and probably nothing wrong but I should go to an exam.

Jared, I had nearly made it to the seven-year mark before I had hysto. I've been told again and again that five years is the max, but I'm not sure whether that's an arbitrary number.

I'm so glad I got all of that taken out, even if I did wait a little longer than I should have.
