How does HRT affect hair on your body?   not facial or genital, but I'm talking about leg, arms, chest, and, if you have it, butt hair? How do you get rid of it reasonably? I'm a very hairy person, so hair removal is something that i really want to know about.

It made most of my body hair either disappear or become invisible to the eye from any further than a few inches.  My body hair was not very thick to start with though.  Even when my T was high I had only around 20 chest hairs and my upper arms and back have always been hairless.

Mine has lightened in color, thinned and softened and i dare say is going away in many places. The amount of removal either via waxing, epilating or shaving i do is going way down. I could literally get away without shaving my legs more than once every couple of weeks. I see more and more velus hair

I was what i would describe as medium hairy before HRT. If i would let it go - i had a fairly hairy torso, some back hair, thick leg hair etc.

HRT will cause body hair to become finer, softer and shorter over time. How long that time is varies. I'd suggest that if you have thick, coarse, long, dark body hair it will be more obvious for longer so you might want to consider giving it an "assist" by trying laser (potentially permanent) or a full body wax (temporary but it sure thins it out after a few sessions). I went the waxing route, yes it was painful but surprisingly exhilarating too...and it made a real difference.

The hair on my chest and abdomen nearly disappeared after a few months on HRT.  Also, thank God, the patches of hair on my back, that developed as I got older, are gone.

Growth of underarm hair slowed dramatically, and I only have to shave under my arms about once a week. The hair on my arms is also less pronounced. Sadly the hair on my legs persists, although it is more sparse.

Sounds to me like HRT is wonderful for getting rid of all that unwanted body hair.  I did figure I would have to shave at some point, but this is encouraging. thank you for your responses!

Ya sounds more promising to me then before seeing direct accounts. I cant afford laser/electrolysis but i'm also not going full time for around 1 year after I start hrt. I have a epilator right now its to painful to use on my chest and legs but my hope and you girls re enforced that is it might be usable on those areas a lot easier by the time I really have to worry. Altho I do hope I can find a job soon and start on electronics with plans on my face, chest and 4 small patches on my back big deal if i have to shave my legs, armpits arms for the rest of my life even if its the rate I have to now every 2 days.

So, I've recently used Nair to remove a good amount of hair.  I didn't seem to have a bad reaction to it, until I used it on my legs.  at least, the back side of my thigh.  I have a bunch of red bumps and don't know how to deal with them or what they are.  they make it painful to even sit sometimes.  It's been almost a week since i used Nair on that area and the bumps won't go away. any ideas on what they are? don't know if a photo would be necessary...
