problems

a few months ago i made this account to talk about a problem (hence my name) here, after reading the rules because i thought it was a sexual problem, i thought i had to make some posts and wait a while before i could enter the right forum. it went away a for a bit, so i left a while.

however, now i've found out that what is wrong and it is yeast!!!

i don't know if i'm allowed to detail how bad it's gotten, but it is the worst! i can't find any help about it except that it's possible that my estrogen is helping cause it. this never happened last time!

I am sorry you misunderstood. The sexual forum is intended for people to discuss sexual acts away from the public eye. You may discuss medical issues outside of the sexual forum. Like a CIS woman, we may develop yeast infections which is why we need to be checked out after surgery and anytime we think we are developing a problem.

i'm pre-op, so this is why i'm here, since male yeast infections are so different, however i'm showing signs of the typical female yeast infection, but also some signs described by males who have had high estrogen levels.

just tonight, it seems the infection is starting to spread near my behind. this is really bad, as it's been showing signs but i didn't realize until now.

i've been using ketoconazole cream by suggestion from a friend, but it doesn't really seem like its helping.

i can't see a doctor until next week, and even then i don't know how to bring it up with her. she could possibly take my hormones away also if they're a cause, i believe!

this is so frustrating. also i realize this isn't a prime time for help, so i'm asking ahead of time if i may bump this later tomorrow at a better time. please?

Men get genital yeast infections also, and they need to be treated. Not only are they unpleasant but can be dangerous.

If your HRT is under the direction of a medic there is no reason to go off it. But the yeast infection must be treated.

No doctor would care if you bring it up with them, it is a normal part of medical practice.

Just so you know, Cindy has an extensive medical background and she is located in Australia so you hit the right person and time zone for your question.

maybe i'm worrying about it for nothing then (thinking she'd take my hormones away) i think i was scared by a lot of the media and people saying you can't get hrt if you have other issues...

well i'm going to see her, i guess it's okay, even though i feel embarrassed. right now the only tip i have is to sit in my room naked and keep a boxfan blowing. until i see my dr, at least, do any of you have other suggestions for temporary relief?

thanks for helping me know it's not abnormal though.

EDIT: ahh, thank you then, i guess i got super lucky c: (excellent forum software btw, i've never seen one notify me of a new reply as i'm posting before)

I am not sure if this will help but it does for many people with genital yeast infection.

Firstly yeast spreads very easily and lives in its inactive form VERY easily.

Washing. Pat your self dry and boil or dispose of flannels and towels you are using. Do not use sponges to wash and if you have dispose of them. If you have used towels/flannels do not re use them before boiling (baby wash or boiling cycle on your clothes washer).

Keep the area dry, but do not use talc or deodorant. If you can get to your pharmacist/chemist and but some calamine lotion, use it freely, it stops the itch.

(Great for bug bites as well BTW.)

Cut out sugar. Yeast loves sugar. So no sugar soda drinks etc. Drink pure water.

Clothing, keep it loose, if you are able skirts no undies. If you are wearing underwear again it needs to be boiled. Anything in contact needs to be cleaned!! Other wise you will infect yourself.

If you have a female partner please let her know that you have a fungal infection, females are prone to yeast infections because our vaginal area is warm and moist - perfect for fungus.

Once you get to your medic anti-fungals can clear the infection up very quickly.

But use it as a lesson. Fungus loves living on us, will easily reinfect, likes warm moist environments and feeds on sugar.

Ever since I switched estrogen strengths with my injections, I ended up developing 2 yeast infections. It was at the base of the shaft in the front. I was so surprised, my mom is a retired nurse so she was like yep. I told my docs and they weren't too surprised either lol like I didn't think I'd experience a yeast infection like that until after surgery cause everything I read online with guys having jock itch was not the same thing like the areas that it would affect. It went away with a prescription anti-fungal cream though.

So now I'm prone to getting them. I get pretty moist down there. Don't know when that started happening, the moist part I mean..maybe a few years ago? I also get a decent amount of discharge so I have to change undies frequently. Gosh it sounds like I already had surgery lmao. Anyways so now I have to sleep naked, I don't wear undies sometimes with my skinnies and if I do its cotton always. I cant wait till I can go undies free completely like with dresses and stuff cause that would help a ton. For temporary relief, just make sure to keep the area dry hence the advice about the fan and letting the area breathe as much as possible. Hmmm I feel like there's something else I did but I can't remember right now. I need sleep lol

Oh and I just remembered, I read that women that are pregnant are prone to yeast infections due to the high estrogen levels. My levels are pretty high and I'm on a stronger concentration so it makes sense that I ended up developing it. Idk if that would be your case too but yeah just thought I'd mention that.
