I'm just curious as to how many of us actually participated in sports in high school and college. I had always wanted to join the girls cheer and dance team, but my self esteem was pretty low all throughout high school until my senior year. I felt as if I was to unpopular to ask the coach if I could join as a girl. So if anybody did, what was it like?

I have, and, quite honestly, it has been amazing. In middle school I played coed Ultimate Frisbee through 8th Grade. Having coming out publicly at the end of 8th Grade I went into High School preparing to play, as why should I drop a sport I had been playing for two years? (Just a note...I am NOT a sporty person but just enjoy running around and getting some exercise socially). I obviously had my doubts about playing on an all-girl High School sports team but I turned out perfectly fine. Even though I am full-time, I am not passing in the slightest and everyone has been really supportive. Sure, there are some awkward parts for me but nobody has bothered me about anything about being transgender. Hell, nobody has asked about my identity, or being on hormones, or anything like that. The only hiccups have been about going to some tournaments where being a year on hormones is required, which is a shame. But I am working with the team sponsor to appeal this rule, especially considering I am not even close to the athletic ability of some of the other girls on the team. So that is my experience!
Just trying to share the love <3!
