Basically, this is a topic to find out what things bother you.
It can be absolutely anything, from a social issue, to music, to fashion, basically anything you like and it would be great if others could pick up on the point and share their opinion on it. No huge arguments over right or wrong though, I don't want this turning into a moral debate, its just a bit of fun which will perhaps allow us to understand each other a little better.
I'm very interested to see what issues are at the top of peoples minds on a day to day basis as I think it can help one tell a lot about a person and the environment in which they live.
I know we are all very different so I think it will be interesting to see this as it progresses day to day :D

Let me start you off with one that has been bothering me for a while now, though I'm sure to others its not so much of an issue at all:

Q: Why is it that a lot, in fact the majority of men seem to believe it is a compliment to tell a girl that looking at them gives them an erection? Is it only I who finds this repulsive?

(sure it's not the boast thread?)

I think it's because an erection is a difficult thing to fake. Like a proper laugh it is a sincere and honest response,

A: Causing an erection means the guy finds you better than cute, better than pretty, better than sexy. You're "erection causing." That's the equivilant of really really sexy.

Why is it that hot dogs come in packages of 8 but hot dog buns in packages of ten? Or is it the other way around?

What bothers me?

As I get older I realise that we exist to consume and be consumed. We are ants, scuttling around, existing in a world created by governments, corporations, financial institutions and religions. It is strange to me that we are told that we live in a free society, yet, is it truly free?  Essential needs like healthcare, heating, clothing are all charged or/and taxed. To have a roof over our heads, we pay ridiculous sums of money for decent housing, so the rich keep getting richer and the poor, will, eventually die.
Sometimes I think I'm the only one who sees all this. who thinks all this. Does not anyone else care? Liberal minded people come across as too weak, other political parties change their minds like the wind. There is no fair government for anyone in the world. It is time for change, it is time for sensible decisions to be made, it is time for all of us to be treated as equals.

You're not the only person who thinks this. Read Immanuel Kant. Then look at what happened to the countries that took those beliefs and founded a government off of them. That line of thinking causes the "dog eat dog" world to exist.

I'm certainly not boasting about it, it makes me cringe and upsets me, I'm not a sexually motivated person in the least and therefore I don't really want to hear such things to be honest. I can understand if a man may get an erection, but I certainly wouldn't want to know about it.

I understand what it means, its the idea that somehow it is considered a compliment to tell someone you have a hard on that bothers me, I mean its foul.

You are certainly not the only person who thinks this, far from it. It is one of the main reasons I so love to distance myself from the rest of society so often and why I crave solitude and to be at one with nature and unspoilt landscapes as much as possible. The world is dominated by a self centered, self obsessed race which deems itself worthy to rule all and gives itself the right to do what it will with its surroundings, and it disgusts me to be one of the human race 99% of the time. I think there are few redeeming features to our kind, we are a plague and eventually we will kill off ourselves through our selfishness and greed, perhaps that is not such a bad thing, in a couple of million years we will be gone and something new will inhabit as dominating species. I can only hope that the next dominant race takes better care of our world :)

One of the things that bothers me is that it seems like in society (at least American society) there is a such a premium placed on material possessions, peer pressure and basically being exactly the "right" person owning exactly the "right" things and having "exactly" the right friends.  I know, I know, it'll never change, but I do have friends who have really done a good job raising kids kind of outside of that pressure. I think it's normal (hate to use the word but any other one escapes me right now) for a kid to want to be accepted, but it's a shame that acceptance doesn't come more in the form of who you are rather than what you own, who your friends are, etc.

Some of the coolest people I've known in my life (actually, pretty much the ones I gravitated toward since I was young) are the ones who marched to a different beat. I guess maybe it's the gender thing that caused me to see that from a young age and be able to appreciate individuality, I don't know.

Anyway, that's what bothers me today :) Meghan

I think such social demands occur most places, not just the US, and often it takes a very strong minded person not to follow blindly the crowd. I think we as transgendered/androgynous individuals are rather fortunate in that respect, because once we have come to terms with ourselves, social norms and requirements do not seem to matter at all and more and I think many of us are actually very proud to be able to say that we are true individuals rather than part of a trend or social exercise.

It seems that many people fail to comprehend the fact that one does not need to be part of a meshed network to survive in this world. I have found this particularly true of people living in cities and towns, people who are practically forced to mingle with others on a daily basis and do not see the world in the bigger picture.

It's a shame in a way, but I think, as you said, it make the individuals who choose their own path even more special people :)

As a corollary to JJ's: Why is I'd f*** her (possibly him or them or hir as well,) considered complimentary? I have always failed to see the compliment.

Yes, I know. Sexy! But, would just "I think she's sexy" be sufficient or is there some hierarchy of sexy that rises from the initial statement to the bed?

i think 'i'd have them' is not a complement, while the first sort of is - a very sincere complement. I very sincere if kind of creepy complement.

LOL, , men say all kinds of stupid things trying to impress a woman...most eventually get better at it...something about being slapped in the face or drinks thrown on them...or taught in other means >:D...they can be slow learners though...

Had a guy in his 40s say that to me not long ago while at a dance club with my friends...I must admit that I was dressed very sexy and had mostly been dirty dancing with my friends most of the night...and we were not there looking for anything either and had already shot down a number of propositions...but those had at least been polite for the most part....

"Um...god watching you dance is giving a hard-on," this guy says walking up to where the 3 of us were dancing.
I was shocked for a second...but only for a second and glanced at my friends and winked...
"Oh baby," I said to Jerk as I walked up to him...placing one hand behind his neck and the other on his crotch...yep...the guy had a full on hard-on in those there pants...I stepped into him pressing my body against him...as my 2 friends came up around him...encasing him in a girl sandwich...lets just say that he got the biggest eyes I have ever seen...and his poor little one was really straining against his pants...
"Oh baby...do you really think you could handle all of us?" I whispered in Jerk's ear while slowing jacking him off through his pants...
"Um..." was his only response...
"Because if we choose you," we were now rubbing ourselves all over him...apparently having three girls, six breasts pressed against him...slowly gliding over his poor body was too much for the poor boy...he seems to have lost the ability to think...
"we're going to screw your brains out..." his body shivered and his muscles tensed...and the inevitable happened for the poor boy..
"Oh, my," I said stepping back from him...
"Well...it you can't even handle that...there's no ways you'd be able to handle one of us," I scolded as we all stepped back..frowning at him...
"You know what's worst of all?" I asked Jerk...all he could do was lamely shake his head no...and that wet spot was really starting to grow  too...
"You didn't even ask for permission to cum," I scolded...as the three of us turned and left him standing there on the dance floor.

Well, lets just say that I don't think he'll be using that line anytime soon...

We stayed at the club till past closing and then had 2 of the bouncers walk us out to our car...just in case...but Jerk face had left immediately after having his accident...never to be seen again...

Peace and love,
Isabelle St-Pierre...who can be rather mean and cruel at times ;)

See,  don't understand that thought, I mean what a guy is basically telling you by saying that is that he is likely to think about you while he masturbates or something like that, which isn't a nice thought, in my book at least. I mean I know people do it, but I don't want to hear about it, I certainly don't think its a compliment... Telling someone they look good is enough, telling them you masturbate over them is another...

I HATE time...I really do. If it didn't exist we wouldn't have so much stress in our lives; those we love would be alive, we wouldn't be sick, we wouldn't be old, and we would still have our innocence intact.

Ugh, ok, new thing I hate in the last like six months I forgot to mention. Ok, I don't know ANYTHING about cars at all, but we have these cars in Southern California that have these weird mufflers on them. These mufflers are SOOOoooooo loud. My neighbor has one and every morning at 5 am I hear his STUPID car starting and him leaving. I don't know what these stupid things are, but these are little cheap cars with these stupid loud mufflers. I hate these loud mufflers!!!

It would never work with Red Dwarf... Things that were cheesy because they were budget could never be the same if they brought it back... Instead, they should have just made more.

But then again, Dr Who is cheesy and budget and that still works... hmmm.... Got me on a thinker now XD

There are sound laws. Your local police are not enforcing because they are busy putting drug dealers in jail and there is no more room. Bring your neighbor to court. Knowing someone is breaking the and not reporting them makes you just as guilty.
