Well last week after having blood in my urine I went to the doctor. He is scared and took a prostate sample for cancer tests. Then he went to the ultrasound in the abdominal section and made a startling discovery that I have a very rare condition.

I have persistent mullerian duct syndrome. There it was an underdeveloped uterus curvix and thingy that is supposed to be a virginal canal. I was just as shocked as him not knowing what to make of it I found out that this alien has been hiding in me for 28 years. So may this be the cause of me being trans. It may be wonderful news they may be able to connect the neo Virginia up to it. But wow 28 years without so much as a hint that this was lodged in me.  ??? ??? ???

I am not too worried about that right now as long as I have a clean bill of health and no cancer!

Regards

That could explain your transgender feelings because it would put you in the Intersex classification. It will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

Is there any chance it could be developed further using HRT?

That is what we would like to have happen, but really there is no chance of that happening as those part have developed as much as they ever will.

Amoré

True so although I have them I maybe won't be able to carry a baby still due to risk of mis carriage with the uterus being under developed

Welcome to the wonderful world of being intersexed. Maybe with hrt it might trigger something for it to start developing.

Okay so I am not a transgender woman then if I am intersex?

Well technically one can be both... what it does mean that you weren't ever fully male - you have some aspects of female reproductive system. Its not actually as uncommon as you may imagine. Back in my day they tended to find out right after they had fatally damaged the "anomalous tissue" during SRS and all you got was a report from the surgeon after the event so to speak.

So they might be able to connect it in srs?

Amore, everyone situation is different as what parts you have and how far they are developed.  Have you ever had any signs of having a monthly period; this have be pain, bleeding, etc that occur on a regular interval of about every month?  Talked to your dr and he/she will probably want to run some tests and/or imaging to see what your situation is all about.

Well no bleeding as there is no ovaries or eggs or velopian tubes for that matter the uterus is underdeveloped

I used to dream about a doctor taking an X-ray or ultrasound and finding a surprise. I thought it would explain why I feel the way I do and it would be proof that I was trans. I also recently had an ultrasound around my abdominal area for a minor problem, and there were no surprises. :(
I hope your cancer tests come back negative.

It would be interesting to see a karotype done on you.  Would it come back XY or....?

You may very well have vestigial ovaries hiding somewhere.  Sometimes they show up as anomalous bodies in the scrotum, and sometimes they are hiding higher up in the body.

I always felt that I had a little extra tissue in my scrotum.  My GP said it was nothing.  But after I get through therapy and see an endo, that part of me may merit another, closer look.

I had the same dreams since I was a teen, except everything was fully developed and all they would have to do is cut off the growth (penis/testicles) to reveal the vagina underneath.

I would definitely say this is wonderful news. :)

OMG, thats really interesting - not the "blood in the urine" part, the uterus part. I hope everything is okay with your health though. Thats pretty scarey. Keep us updated okay? Both on your health and on your persistent mullerian uterus thingy! ^__^
