I have to get ready for some pics tonite. A photographer friend of mine and I take pics every month to document the physical changes I am undergoing. I so don't care to do it, but really want to have a record of the change. Its neat to see the month to month changes. But I still feel really uncomfortable in front of the camera. I would post them but thats kind of personal.
Don't post any photos of yourself. There are too many Webbots and Webcrawlers which scour Websites for posts, images, anything, and take more stuff than bottom scraping fishing trawlers. And this Website is not totally secure from these Internet tools. While it's nice to want to share, think longer term when you're done and getting on with your life, do you want your history out there for anyone to use?
As for being before a camera, the photographer and you can work together to relax and get good images. Are they experienced with portrait photography? If you're documenting your history, then do it well, because sometimes you may want to look at your history to remember or share. The photograph not taken is only a memory. Just protect the images. Even if the photographer is a friend, get a contract to understand the rights and protections over the images. If they're a commercial or professional one, they should offer it. If they're not, you should bring one.
Good luck.
