Because of my size, Tall, I already need to do much of my shopping in place where I can get stuff that fits. This means on line or catalog shopping and my prices will be bit more than what most people pay. I suspect what you would receive would be low quality, closeout or you could buy it for about the same prices if you look around. Remember that she isn't giving this away and she has a way to make a buck off this. If you are tall, let us know and we will give you the names of places you can shop on line. If you are average hight, you have many stores to chose from and I suspect far greater selection that what is offered off the links.

She may be targeting the people who are to ashamed to order elsewhere so if you get comfortable shopping for yourself, you will get over one of the hurtles of transitioning and possible save money in the process.

Dena,

Yes I am tall and large frame, plus sizes.  I am 6'1" and weigh 235 lbs. so ladies let me know of so places online to shop please.  I live in the south and in same area for all my life and I'm not comfortable shopping in the public stores locally right now, maybe ever.  And as all of you I like bargains and sales.
Again thanks Dena,

Josefa

The fashion section of the site is a good place to start looking because we tend to move this topic into that area when it's out of place. The first link will take you directly to that area. The second and third links are something I spotted that might help but they are not the only ones that might be of interest to you.

Thanks

I have to hand it to that eBay seller for coming up with a clever way to sell clothes. I can't imagine the quality is going to be very good, though, considering the price. You can pay $65 for just decent clothing item. It may be that she's using this as a way of unloading odd used things she that wouldn't sell otherwise. Size would be the main problem. I've bought a number of clothing things on eBay and easily half of them were unwearable due to size issues. A whole box of stuff? I dunno.

At your height and weight, you're going to have to shop carefully, Josefa. If at all possible, you should try and shop at a walk in store, not online. You might go to a couple of second hand/thrift-type stores at first. In addition to being low priced, you can find an enormous variety of things in those places and try on a lot of sizes and styles (all be it, all out of style). Later, you'll can shop more confidently in regular stores.

Check out Zulily, there's an app for your phone too but its a nice discount site with plus size options that are actually fashionable! *gasp*  They have a nice variety of everyday clothing, lingerie, and going out stuff.  I've bought several dresses for $20-$30 that were normally 60+ retail.

Things to note; Things aren't returnable generally and things ship fairly slow though they do keep you informed.  Also, its dangerous for your wallet and closet!  ;)

 Lyric,

Thanks for your post.

I have went ahead and bought the box.  The seller wrote and I gave her every measurement I could think of then some so will see.  I don't have many things to wear so this will give me some idea of sizes and the way girlie things fit my over sized frame.  I'm not fat just thick.   :icon_geekdance:  I am excited to see what I get, kinda like Xmas in April.  It might be a bust but if so, live and learn.

I keep you all apprised to the outcome.

Josefa

PS    I'll get to dress up soon, I'm so excited.

Kerry,

Thank you I will pop on over to Zulily's and do some more window shopping.  Something is going on here, as a guy I never was that interested in shopping but now... different story.

Anyone know of any more stores for plus size gals?

I checked and Long Tall Sally has upper size limits of 20-24 which should fit you. I am 170 pounds and your height but was up to 200. I could squeeze into a size 16 so I suspect you will be 20-22. Everything comes in taller sizes so length shouldn't be a problem. The clothes are a higher quality so they cost a bit more but they should also wear well. Check out the shoes as well. You will need 1.5 to 2 sizes larger than your male size.

My last order they included a UPS return label should I desire to return something but I have been buying stuff long enough that everything fit as expected.

You are new here and you couldn't have seen more than a small fraction of the posts I have made here in a little less than a year. To summarize it, I came out of the closet in 1974 and struggled to accomplish the most basic things in my transition because there just wasn't much available. I found a therapy group in 1979 where I could get the help I needed and in 1982 I had my surgery. Because of the help I received, I pay it forward any time I can. Discovery of Susan's gave me a place where I could help many people avoid the trouble and expense I had. I almost never turn my TV on any more because it's so much more rewarding helping others. Besides that, I was drafted.

I'm sure I have the letter somewhere when you begged to be a GM!

Or was it the one from me begging you?

No matter, you are wonderful and thank you.

Torrid is one of the go to places for plus size women (Size 12-28).  I haven't partaken myself  (I'm size 9/10/11 depending on the manufacturer)  but everyone I've spoken to raves about the place.

They are also a mall chain, so they might have a brick and mortar store near you -- check the store finder on their website -- and word is, they are trans friendly.  They seem to understand that crossdressers and transgirls are a big part of their market.

Also, Target has just publicly come out as trans friendly, and in my experience they sometimes stock plus size clothing.  I've scored some Mossimo shorts from them and noticed on some products they go up to size 18.

Good luck, have fun, and let us know how things go.
