I made a topic about 2-3 months ago about having pain during arousal, this is mostly gone now but I'm still having some pretty annoying issues.

A doctor diagnosed me with a bacterial vaginitis. I tried one course of antibiotic and it made it a lot worse, I started having some really thick nasty discharge. A second doctor again diagnosed with a bacterial vaginitis. I tried another antibiotic and it helped somewhat but after a couple of days I'm slowly getting more and more discharge so the initial infection is coming back. I was recommended by Brassard to do 3 or 4 douches a day to help battle the infection. It helps a bit I guess but the infection is not going away. Have any of you gone through similar problems? I don't know what to do. I have some vaginal probiotics at home recommended by a doctor that I haven't tried yet. Could that get rid of the problem? I don't want to end up one of those women with recurrent vaginitis that have to endure this stuff for years.

On another note, I tried masturbating recently, I did not experienced a sharp pain on arousal and my labia is not numb anymore so things seems to be mostly healed up. Still, after I got fully aroused and started masturbating, I found it to be very uncomfortable and needed to stop. It's not like there's any pain, it's just a extremely annoying feeling and I can tell from the start that this is not going to get me anywhere. It's so annoying that I can't keep doing it from more than 5min without getting extremely sad and frustrated. I really HATE the feeling it gives me, I just can't enjoy either clitoris or minor labia stimulation. I'm really better emotionally since GRS but sexually wise, it's just seriously bad. I've been 6 months without being able to masturbate pleasurably. I'm so tired of this, I want my sexuality back. Did anyone else have this problem?

If you haven't had a visit to a gynecologist, you need one now for an internal examination. You may receive medication and if you do, you should have a follow up exam in a week or two in order to check the healing. While the doctor is down there, have the rest of the surgery checked as well. Gynecologist preform surgeries similar to our surgery on CIS women to correct problems they may have so this shouldn't be all that new to them.

I was still having nerves reconnect up to two years after surgery. I could tell this because I was feeling itches in places that weren't there any more. It will take time to properly heal and people heal at different rates do be careful comparing yourself to others.

You're right, I should definitively get a gynecologist. Sadly, in Canada the healthcare is free but the wait-list for a specialist is minimum between 6 months to 1 year. I'll ask Brassard clinic if they could refer me to someone. It's better if I do this asap given the very long waiting time.

Pay out of pocket or go over the border. You are overdue by about 3 months for a look see.

Douching should not help control the infection (although it can clean out the discharge and control some of the *symptoms*), so you definitely want that treated effectively before too long. I also wouldn't try the probiotics yet; even in cis women, they can prevent infections but they won't *cure* one.

As for the rest, well, even cis women find masturbation/sex less than fun when everything down there is infected and irritated. I think that's normal, although it's obviously frustrating.

Try drinking probiotics as well you can get them from whole foods.as for masterbation, I can't do it directly on my clitorus either as its too weird and sensitive. What's gets me going are the nerves right under my pubic mound right above the clit area. Try tapping there it's much better

Also look into what lubes you're using. Some ingredients used in a lot of common lubricants actually can cause yeast infections....not sure about BV but something to look into anyway

I thought I'd update. Brassard said that my doctors were wrong, it's hypergranulation deep inside the vagina and not an infection. It has gotten better since douching 3 times a day and I have a silver nitrate treatment today. Brassard was really mean when I saw him though, he was too stressed up so he didn't think before speaking. He told me that I had discharge because I was unclean, which is complete bull->-bleeped-<- but anyways... He also said that OBVIOUSLY it's normal that I had sex problems since I only had surgery 6 months ago and said that it can take 1.5 years before nerves reconnect. I tried today, after 7 months post-op and although I have no more pain or discomfort, even the strongest vibration gives me no pleasure at all. I guess I'll have to wait another year before I get the RIGHT to COMPLAIN. In the mean time, I'll continues rejecting my partner's sexual needs and my own just like I I have been doing for years. Good thing that the rest of my life is going incredible because that sex thing is the most frustrating thing ever and nobody seems to have similar experiences. Everybody brags about having orgasm after 3-6 months when I can't even get PLEASURE after 7 months.

Well not everyone...still no Big O after 10.5 months but I do have penetrative sex with partners.  That feels pretty good.  My issues could be I forget I'm supposed to have one.  It's just fun experiencing a man take his pleasure.
I feel so useful.  :P

Thank you,
Anne

I experienced pleasurable sensations 5 weeks after surgery from Brassard. Maybe Brassard isn't as good as he was? Getting old and tired? Or maybe it's a mental thing for you? Or you are just not doing the things that really arouse you?

I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

- in cis girls a healthy flora is present in the vagina which prevents infection.

Thats why some gyns recommend eating yoghurt.
Fresh untreated sauerkraut also contains helpful bacteria if there is a milk allergy.
I'd use organic because of live cultures without gm strains.

- Brassard himself recommends cranberry juice, in his residence and thereafter.

- some people use magic wands or lelo smart wands large. All at your own risk, they are powerful ... some peple use a soft cloth in between. They cannot be compared to normal toys.

- you could go for the Gspot... here was a thread:

*hugs* and wish you a speedy recovery
