Seems to be a lot less info/focus on Thai doctors than in the past on this board

I am currently looking to have facial feminization surgery in Thailand, so I have been checking this board. Much to my surprise, there seems to be very little information or focus on Thai doctors.

I just checked the first 10 pages of this board and found relatively little information on Thai doctors doing facial feminization surgery. If, I found any information it was on the top three most popular surgeon in Thailand. In the, not so distant past, Thailand was the place to go.

Is my perception right or wrong? Is there a reason for this shift away from Thai surgeons? Should I be considering having my ffs in another country?

Hiya,

Well I have noticed that too.

Back in the early 2000's many more patients seemed to be going to surgeons like Dr Suporn for FFS. I nearly went to him too.

I also hear that their prices are a lot more expensive than in the past and are either close to or the same as some of the US surgeons.

All that I can say is that if you read my thread here:

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,199847.0.html

I have just returned from Spain and are delighted with their work.

Just wish that they had been around 12 years ago when I had my first facial surgery in the USA.

My only other choice would have been Dr DiMaggio in Argentina judging by recent results from him and other Facial Team's post-op patients on here.

Facial Team apart from myself have been repairing/correcting other patients problems on here who have had poor or simply bad work from some surgeons.

Good luck with your decision making process.

Hugs

Paula

Hi...I live in Bangkok and had all my surgeries done here. My FFS was done by PAI surgeon Dr Surachai and he was amazing. The ffs was the longest part of the three surgeries and took 4.5 hours.  I had the following done ...brow reduction, lowering the hairline, eyebrow lift, rhinoplasty, lip augmentation with fat, and a rejuvenating lift.... I'm 68 years old and that's me in the avitar.

Yep, Thailand has not been the focus of this group lately.  I believe because the well known Thai surgeons started costing as much as US domestic surgeons.

Argentina has been getting a lot of attention because there are now two surgeons there, Dr Rossi ( where I went ) and Dr Di Maggio.

Hi,

You are looking good kiddo and are as nearly as old as me ....  ;)

Would you be able to share close-up fotos with us either on forum or by pm?

Also how much you paid as that would be very informative for Hanouf?

Of course she could always contact Dr Surachai direct for the latest costs.

When did you have your FFS done?

Take care

Hugs

Paula

Hi Warlockmaker:

I agree with Paula1. It would be quite helpful to see a close-up of your face and the price you paid for each procedure. Thanks. BCDYGE

The only names that ever come up on many forums are those of the surgeons that will come up 1st on a Google search. One surgeon I know teaches rhinoplasty at one of Thailand's most prestigious medical schools. You never hear his name. Multiple ... 100's of other surgeons you will never hear mentioned. What a pity. One surgeon does $1000 penile inversions on the local Ladyboys. Granted the surgery is not in hospital but the results are pretty good. You'll never hear his name. He's not running Google ads.

There are so many local thai surgeons for srs and ffs etc. The prices that the locals pay cannot compare with the prIces that the local ladyboy pays. The cost are around usd 3 to 5 thousand for a modern copy of Suporn, PAI .  No hospital but a clean clinic . There are so many of us here out in the open its unbelievable.

I have provided costs I paid for each surgery, and the procefure details . Look up the posts for Dr Preecha or my wonderful surgery at PAI.

A total of only 4.5 hours in the operating room for those five separate, intricate, and difficult procedures ?

That is really amazing !

And having your GRS, FFS, and BA,  all in the same day - -  that must have been a long day for the anesthesiologist.

I had 3 surgeons doing the ops simultaneously. Thus the anesthetist only worked for 4.5 hours. Suporn and Chett take up to 7 hours just for srs, due to limited operating room staff.

Dear warlockmaker

You look simply amazing!

She does in the flesh too :)

The top Thai surgeons are no longer particularly competitive on price compared with elsewhere. Leading Argentinean and even European clinics offer comparable prices to the Thai ones, particularly for FFS, making Thailand a much less attractive proposition than in the past.
