That quote along is what I was going with. There are many cis people who don't have stereotypical male or female faces and I don't believe it makes them any more or less feminine or masculine. I was going by whether the people looked authentic or not rather than the shape of their face being feminine or masculine.

Interesting we all have difference opinions about this topic.
Both, men and women can have a bit square head shape, big - long nose, big ears, rough features etc. But I still thinks there a difference between a cis woman with rough features and a man. Even though a cis woman have big nose, ears and a manly nosebridge, she still have in a smaller size than a cis man. Her ears and nose would have a softer edge and the features are a bit smaller. It can be from millimeters to meters. Often the cis women have a difference distance between the features than cis men due biological hormones.

Squared shaped cis women also have softer skin and a softer edge at their head shape than cis men. As you can see at the picture, the woman has a softer edge at her nose than the man. The man has a sharper edge at his nose.  The man's brow bridge is a bit more visible than the woman's and he has a large, more squared head.




The man has a harder edge at his jawline and at his nose. His neck is thicker and he has broader shoulders as well. His ears is a bit bigger than many women's ears.


The woman who has a square head has a softer jawline, thinner neck and a soft nose compared to the man. Her lips are also difference than the man's. Not very much, but the softness. You can pass with a squared head as long your features are in a convincing size and you have the softness over yourself.

This is my opinions.

Sebby, what you say is true most of the time, but there can be exceptions that make faces look like no specific sex, and times when differences are really blurred. Anyway, I'm pre everything and my nose bridge is bigger than the one of my dad, as big as the one of my brother (we both have prominent noses but my bridge is a bit hooked unlike his), my ears are as big as than the ones of my brother and mine are also a bit pointy while he has softer edges, my brother doesn't have squared shaped jaws and I don't either, and my dad doesn't either. But after all, I was told my face is masculine and the only thing missing is facial hair....I guess that's the one that can make me have issues with passing pre-T because I'm 23 and have no trace of male facial hair (except for the soft sideburn hair and upper lip hair but it's soft and has nothing to do with the thick male facial hair). I want facial hair so badly, but without T I can't do anything about it. Maybe I'm one of those exceptions, maybe I got exposed to higher testosterone levels than the average afab people during puberty and that shows in my features. Who knows. I keep saying no I'm not so masculine, but other people especially my gf insist my facial traits are masculine.
The reason why I don't post an avatar pic or public pics in posts is because of privacy. I don't want anyone in my life to find me here while browsing the internet.

P.S.: the men you showed have stereotypically very masculine faces. Very masculine. I could find examples of cis guys who don't look like that.

You should relax your brows because frowning your brows will bring more attention to that area, which is a very hard area for most trans women. Also try plucking your eyebrows it helps a lot with feminizing your face, now it looks like they're sitting on your lashes. Melanie, thanks. I'm building up to getting my brows shaped, but don't want to raise others at work. And it is a wig (with coloured roots). Early makeup efforts were ridiculous, so I'm trying to build up slowly from a minimum now. Practice still needed!

Had my girlfriend do my makeup and hair before my therapist appointment today

You don't pass yet. Maybe plucking your eyebrows and relaxing more would help a bit. When you are doing that thing with your eyebrows, you appear more manly. You give me a lumberjack expression, something that may disturb the passing ability. Your masculine head shape and nose would softening a bit on HRT, so you get a softer edge at them. Often people have to be on HRT several years before it works and the finale result comes. I recommend you working at your eyebrows, facial expression; relaxing and it may turn better out.

To my eyes, you pass well. You may get some Botox to relieve the single wrinkle between your eyebrows. It is not expensive.

When I go out no one seems to stare at me and my friends tell me I pass but for some reason I don't see it? I have only been on hormones about 6 months and I have lost about 25lbs recently and I am in the process of losing about 60 more so I know that will help. ... I do have wide hips that are hard to notice in these photos.

2nd month on low dose hormones, no make up, only mascara . And do not look at the small mess .

You do pass. You pass best at the first picture because your femininity is more visible than at the middle picture. Even though you has some sharp edges at your features, you do still pass. Because it's in a small degree.

How long have you been on HRT? I think you pass better now than what you did in the past. I can't remember exactly how you looked like before, but if I remember right, you posted a picture of you earlier in the forum. Anyway, I think you pass better now than you did in the past, if I remember right.
