Hi Stephanie. .I have long refrained on any comments on this subject as I don't live in a country with these issues. I go to night clubs throughout Asia and these clubs have unisex toilets. In Bangkok it's the men who feel most awkward, with females entering their toilet as the urinals are revealing. The option is no urinals.

So I understand that if you are in female attire you should be able to use the female bathrooms and vice versa. Is this the concept that is supported by LGBT in western countries. I find this acceptable.

Or does the western LGBT asks that you can be attired anyway you wish and opt for your choice of bathrooms. I understand that there is a more unisex attire in Western countries than in Asia and this distinction may not be so evident. So, the option is to establish unisex facilities in the West. But, I know of many male perverts and they are naturally stronger physically and l can understand some people concern.  I am concerned about my 14 year old daughter under these situations. It's a difficult concept for Western countries due to the hostilities. It has to be culturally accepted and for females to feel comfortable ...we are the weaker sex and we all know men...

I don't have an answer but I have question on how to implement this safely.

I could be blindly mistaken , but the solution seems to be simplistic. Single use gender neutral and when multiuse is needed just I extra gender neutral . I mean realistically there's not that many of us so we don't need to have multi stall bathrooms for just trams. Anyone can use the gender neutral. I don't know unless I'm totally not getting it this is such a no brainer.

In my opinion, you can in no way base bathroom rights on attire because there is no standard for attire, let alone a standard for masculinity or femininity. That would be an impossible guideline to follow, let alone enforce.

There is zero statistical danger of perverts doing anything to anyone in bathrooms. It never happens and they are relatively assault unfriendly places.

Gender markers on bathroom doors where never meant to be legally binding barriers. Trying to make them that, is a useless exercise in effort and cost, for no return in safety. Yes more unisex and single use bathrooms helps this all for sure, but that alone is not the answer.

The answer is move on from this political culture issue to something that actually protects people. Maybe campus safety, maybe more education, maybe better family counseling. These are some things that could make people safer.

Not defending the AFA, but they deny this.
