Hey everyone! Call me Mimi (though that's not my real name). I'm a pre-transition Female to Male transgender person who's learning to love himself & be okay with the fact that he likes to to present female sometimes. I had an account here once before, a long time ago, but I'm a very different person now and I also no longer have the email associated with that account.
For a little about me... I only have a year left of being a true teenager and I'm freaking out about it. I volunteer out at a parrot & exotic bird rescue every other Sunday and love it, and I have a cockatiel who's my little sweetheart. I love makeup & dresses, though at the moment I mostly wear button downs & other men's clothing due to dysphoria (except for when I'm home and want to indulge myself or going to a VERY progressive trans-friendly LGBT center in my area). My parents are supportive though I think they think it's a little strange that I would go through all the trouble of hormones, surgery, etc just to present femininely sometimes...but that's just their opinion, and I can live with it. I'm currently working with my therapist to try to get on testosterone before my 18th birthday, in addition to working out some SEVERE depression & anxiety issues of mine.
So, yeah! Thanks for having me and having this community, it's great! :D

Hi Mimi,

Welcome to the site. It has many people with very different experiences. In other words the potential for a lot of information and support.

Not sure of your age. If you are living with your parents, you might be under 18 or so. If so there is a section called youth talk. three is also a section called Significant Others that is for, well, significant others but also family. If you wanted to help your parents and they were interested...

I also wanted to share some links we pass along to newly posting members. Welcome info and rules of the site. If you have not read them, please do so:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Hope you find what you are looking for.

With warmth,

Welcome, Mimi! We're glad to have you and thank you for sharing a bit about yourself.

I, too, am struggling with mental health issues which I thought would prevent me from transitioning. In actuality, as I found out, transitioning helped to take away those issues in addition to proper medical care.

I hope that you seek out the appropriate mental health treatment you need and continue on these funny little journeys we call life and transition  :icon_ballbounce:

Hugs and warm wishes,

Princess
