There are not many post-op guys who hang out here. I have an ongoing thread about my upcoming one in this Bottom Surgery board that I plan to update throughout the remainder of my process and recovery. You can bookmark it with the buttons at the bottom of the thread if it would be helpful to you.

I've talked to quite a few guys that are post-op, and the phalloplasty itself isn't necessarily painful. It's moreso the vaginectomy that people have a lot of pain with. But the recovery period for phallo is exponentially longer than any of the other surgeries. I was out of work for a week for top surgery, 3 days for my hysterectomy, and I'm planning to take a month off for phalloplasty provided there are no complications. I have heard of guys having issues that prevent them from returning to work, and being stuck at home for 6+ months while they deal with it.

I'm in the UK so the operation is done over 4 ops or more. The first is actually the most painful in my opinion mainly cos they use staples on the donor graft site and they sting!! And when you start getting feeling back in your arm it's a very strange feeling - not pain- but definitely weird. The hystorectomy and urethral hook up I didn't find painful at all just uncomfortable. Now waiting for the implant so can't comment on that yet
