Is this where I belong?

Simone Louise

I am using a name, a modification of my given name, that I picked out many years ago. But I have always laid low. I took the COGIATI test on another site and scored 100, which rates me as androgynous, probably not a bad assessment.

I am a 67-year-old male, married, with 3 daughters, one son, and 3 grandchildren. By now, you'd think I'd know who I am. Yet it was only six years ago I was diagnosed as ADD (not the hyperactive kind, for sure). Suddenly much in my life history made sense.

In November, my doctor put me on finasteride for BPH. It has a rare side-effect of breast enlargement. Rare, but I suspected this pill would find me out. Sure enough. My nipples are larger, and these cute little things on my chest daily grow bigger and fuller. I know, because I keep admiring them in the mirror and holding them in my hands.

So far, it's (they're) no big deal. No one else, including my wife, has noticed. The excitement and the euphoria have become intense. I love both the effect and the side-effect of this pill, but if I keep growing, I will need to change my life someday. Can anyone understand the feelings that dominate my inner life these days? Is this where I belong? I can't write more now; my hands are shaking.

Be well,
Simone Louise

Hi Simone,

You belong here, so welcome!!!!  :)

Don't be afraid.  It is awful strange trying to grasp all this stuff by yourself.  We're here to help and to assure you.  You'll find all kinds of people here.  You'll fit in just fine.  Even if you discover that you are not gender variant (transgender), you will find few places on the planet more accepting and you'll have a kick figuring it all out.

I guess now you have to learn to be yourself so that you can just be yourself.   ;)

My name is Rebis, please don't tell the others.  They think I'm Corey Feldman.

Thank you all for your welcomes. The name Susan has a special meaning for me.

My first cousin was named Susan. Ten months older and more mature than I'll ever be, we lived a city block apart, but in different school districts. The year after I escaped with a BA, Susan earned her PhD. My father always asked why I couldn't be more like Susan.

She became an expert on gereontology (and a very close friend). Ironically, she died of cancer at age 64.

Now I have a place I can strive to be more like Susan: Susan's Place.

May this be a blessed place for us all,
Simone

Howdy, Simone Louise -- ain't it fascinating learning new things about yourself?  I've finally come to the conclusion that you simply had better never say never because everything's possible.  Oh, and don't get too comfortable thinking you've got it all figured out -- about 4 years ago, I would have said I had it all figured out, and here I am a few years later, everything turned upside down, painful and confusing, but also exciting and finally authentic.

A namesake! Yay!

The day you stop learning about yourself is the day you're dead - or could just as well be, in my opinion. After all, it's really the only reason we're even in these bodies (if you're a reincarnationist, that is...) - to learn, to experience, to explore and understand our SELVES better.

Welcome! Hope you have a great time learning and growing here. I'm fairly new on here myself, and it's been really great so far.

Blessed Be,

Simone
