Hiya, I've been a lurker mostly recently :p But the time has come for SRS :) So I arrive on May 15th and will be staying at the Rama (the gardens really appeal) and I'm just wondering in anyone else from here might be there around that time? I'm not super social when I'm sore, but it could be nice to have someone to chat to sometimes :) My boyfriend is coming over but only for about a week to help when I come out of the recovery centre, he just can't take any more time out unfortunately :(
So I'll be on my own for the last two weeks-ish :)

I'm leaving May 12 so we won't see each other !  ;)
Tell me what your definition of "man" and "woman" is, I'll tell you which I am. Not the other way around.

OMG! Don't even talk about it! I've been so busy it has completely snuck up on me! It's crazy! SO need to get organised, I'll have to check out some of those 'what to buy lists' before I forget!
I hope things are going well for you :)

What else would you bring apart from all stuff needed for travel and everything required by Chett ? plus internet connection tablet and/or cell phone ... some books ... consider heat in Bangkok too, no need of ski gloves ... go for a gypsy skirt instead ...  ;D
I recently had the judge stating her agreement with regards to my legal name and mention of sex change request... a true life changing statement.. emotionally really strong as a FFS would be

Be sure, in your pre-op consult, to ask him what his policy is on correcting complications. Ie, will he refund you if the surgery is a failure? Will he repair his work? Or are you on your own?

Well I'm here :) I've met some really great people too! :)
Um.. well I'm a bit OCD about making sure I have things and I had a crazy tight time frame to get organised plus I had my stuff scattered between two cities and small island lol, I had to make sure I got everything I needed together in one place with no mistakes :p but I think I did ok in the end :)
I'm enjoying Thailand, I've been here before I super love the food! Although I'm on the first day of clear fluid diet, so I made sure I had great last dinner last night, I went to two Thai places and had one of my faves- pad kra pao, and another thing but I'm not sure what it was called, but it had duck and lots of hot basil in it and it was really good :D

I'm really glad things are moving with your name change, that will be an amazing step! :)
I'm looking forward to meeting you :)

That is a really good idea, but I had my consult yesterday unfortunately... I wish I had asked, as I am terrified of complications, I've had it before with serious surgery so I'm definitely not starry eyed about surgical outcomes.. Hopefully I'll just be one of the lucky ones.

An enourmous step ahead indeed, I need now to go for renewals of the identity card, passport, bank, insurance etc ... but again it is a strong emotional milestone, one of the four stones that made my 40 years old dream along with female body, female social life and sexuality ... so big!!!

Hi Claire,

Only just seen this. I live in Bangkok and have contacts around. If you need anything or want me to pop in please please please just say okay? I'd love to but no pressure. Anything at all you need just say.

Well this is my second day back in the hotel and I'm feeling really good :) I seem to be recovering crazy quickly too, so I'm consciously trying to not do too much stuff :p
The operation went well apparently, the only issue being that 'I'm a real bleeder' apparently, I have thin blood or something, but I haven't had any post op bleeding as far as I can tell, so fingers crossed :)
So just waiting for my packing to be removed on Friday now.. another big day :p

I'm looking forward to meeting up when you get here :)

Hiya :)
Thanks, I'm going pretty well at the moment, mum is here helping me out :) and I've made a few nice friends at the Rama, in the meanwhile I'm trying to stay sedentary which is kinda difficult for me :p
Maybe near the end of my stay it could be fun to meet up and have a look around or something? :)

Claire, I'm happy to hear from you back ... you had not a long stay at the clinic, had you ? How long did it take you to be able to stand up and walk again ? What about pain ? and what from the emotional side ?

:icon_bunch:

BTW it would be good if I know your room number at the Rama...

Hiya, I just had the normal 4 night stay like most people :)
Well I have weird thing where I seem to recover from things really quickly, I could walk around the day I got out of the clinic with out too much trouble, it's just not a great idea... but you still have to empty your pee bag lol.
I kinda got in trouble with the nurse the next day when I went to visit my friend while my room was being cleaned lol. I've tried to stay in bed as much as possible since then, but still get up to make a coffee and I've exfoliated my legs a couple of times and a bunch of other things :) I'm just careful not to make any weird movements or fall over or anything. I played Settlers of Catan with my friends yesterday too :) sitting is not really doable so just lay on my side  at the end of the bed which was fine :) I'm getting my dressings removed and packing out this morning, I can't wait! :D So want a proper shower!
Again, please bear in mind that I'm weirdo and I think I've recovered more quickly that anyone else who' here at the moment, just super lucky :)

As for pain, SRS was minimal, just sort of uncomfortable most of the time.. I had BA too, and the binder they had me in the recovery unit was crazy painful and it put my upper back out badly too, and those together were just agony and it was really hard to try to convey my issue to the staff, shots of morphine only helped a wee bit too.
I don't think that's a common problem though. Once the binder came off most of the pain went away, I was so happy! And with a few back massages from mum, my back problem has mostly subsided :)

I'm room 4077, when do you arrive again?

Guten Tag !

I will be at the Rama by June 3rd in the morning, one week ahead ....

So you had BA at the same time, I remember I had mine back in July 2015, I felt it more painful than the FFS has been, because of those many tiny muscles we have across our chests... look, I find that crazy thing of touching smoothly anything with my finger and feeling muscles impacted inside my chest .. everything is connected inside our body... chest zone was painful for 3-4 weeks especially when getting at bed and setting my body at its right position, could not rely on my arms of course...

Courage !
