Great discussion. I've been noticing what I wear. Only you people get off the subject before I can submit my two-cents worth.
First, I buy colorfast 100% natural fabrics that can be washed in warm water and machine dried at low or medium heat. That means I can dump the entire laundry bag contents into the machines. I can't convince the born-women in the family to do likewise, so maybe I'm still over-male in that area.
For underwear, broadcloth boxers with long pants and knit bikini briefs with shorts. I haven't given the subject much thought.
For work, I've chosen carpenter jeans, solid color work T-shirts (I try to pick at least one of each color), boots according to company specs and white socks. Some colleagues, particularly the females, wear knit exercise pants.
Otherwise (and disregarding clothing received as gifts), I buy solid color or striped oxford shirts and twill pants, sized socks, and shoes of a type pictured in the androgenous shoe topic. I could buy female versions of these. Maybe, I should strive for a 50/50 balance. Sometimes, I wear my League of Women Voters belt; I was the first male member in the city where I lived. Do you think I need to dress more daringly, to make more of a statement?
Quietly,
Simone
