Hello all, I am really new to the site. I have only been in therapy and transitioning for six months. I just wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I discovered this was your second post and in your first post you went on a little shopping trip today. It sounds like you have a good start but if you have questions, feel free to ask. Many people here are willing to help somebody new along the way.

Thank you. I was unsure how to get started. So I just decided to bite the bullet and jump in.

Start any way that works for you. We have many members that never make a post, some who make a few and others like me who go crazy.

Web site factoid. If you want to fool around, go to the upper right hand corner of the screen and place your cursor over members, select View the member list and then click on the word Posts. The list will be all the current members sorted by post count.

Welcome!   You've come to a really great place for support and information.  "Only" six months?  That's a lot longer than some of us!

Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

I have my first hrt appointment next week, nervous and excited all rolled into one. I started my therapy about 5 months ago. I was not sure if this was a normal timeline. But either way, looking forward to it.

Welcome!

There's really no good timeline in my opinion because everyone goes at it at a different pace and different ways.  We all have different definitions of what the transition is or what our expectations are.  Our definitions and expectations are constantly changing too as we learn more or find what we like.

Therapy is great!  That's probably one of the most difficult parts to get to.  So many people don't want to expose themselves or have a difficult finding someone they can talk to.  I think after therapy... it becomes a lot easier because you've already broke the ice and someone can vouch for you professionally.

Hi Jo,
Glad to here that things are moving along for you. Yesterday was one year for me for starting hormones. Yeah! I do believe you will like them. I sure do! Hope your appointment goes well.
