TG CLare

I wanted to post this on THE day but I was on the road and unable to do so.

June 9th marked my 1 year anniversary of my SRS by Dr. Christine McGinn in New Hope. What an appropriate name for a town where Dr. McGinn has her practice? New hope indeed.

My life has been based upon pre-post surgery and for the most part, it has been better. I can look at myself in the mirror now, my swim suit fits better in the right places as does my other clothes.

It has not been care free though. I have had some run ins with trans haters, the most recent in Pennsylvania. I had just finished shaving and getting myself ready for another day and my shaving gear was still on the counter. I saw a woman behind me reflected in the mirror with a look on her face and arms crossed staring at me. We made eye contact and she asked if I was aware that I was in the women's washroom? I told her I knew and I was a woman. She then asked me in no uncertain terms if I was homeless? I told her no, I have a home but my current home has 18 wheels underneath it and was in the parking lot if she cared to go take a look. She stared at me and stormed off. If they had a family washroom, I would have used that but they didn't.

I have had big burly truck drivers hold doors for me, offer to back my tractor trailer into loading docks, drop my trailer for me, (I do all that myself) and the like so maybe being a woman in the trucking industry isn't so bad after all? LOL

It has been a year of good times and bad times but over all, I'm happy.

Love,
Clare.
