I wanted to post this because I have seen a TON of posts where people ask about how much their voices will drop and many people say that it has to do with how high your voice is to begin with. That REALLY made me feel lousy when I first started T since I had such a high voice. However, there must be other factors because I am only 7 months on T and am passing almost all the time voice-wise (I go through a drive thru and I am always a 'sir'), plus my voice gets deeper on an almost daily basis.
I have added two recordings to show you that it's possible to drop to a passable voice from one that would give Julie Andrews a run for her money. In the first recording I sing soprano (I am a terrible singer, please forgive me for that), and then, after I sing, I speak in my LOWEST voice saying "Yes, I have a very high voice, and I can't sing low at all.". It isn't even my normal voice, but me speaking from the diaphragm trying to be deeper. The second recording is me now, in my normal voice, saying that I am 7 months on testosterone. There is a MAJOR difference, and the change is not even finished!
The reason I wanted to post this is simply because I don't want guys with super high voices to feel as badly as I did; I want to give them some hope. There are a lot of factors regarding how low your voice will drop, and how high it is to start out with is only one of them.
