No.  It was the first injectable form of estradiol, invented in 1936.  It doesn't last as long as cypionate or valerate.

It requires more frequent injections and results in larger fluctuations of serum estradiol levels.

I'm sure it will work for you.  As prescribed, you have to inject more frequently.  That's why most use cypionate or valerate.   The purpose of these "esters" is to make the injection last longer.  Pure estradiol would only last a few hours.  Once injected the body slowly breaks down and becomes usable.  With Benzoate it just breaks down faster.

@Kay oh great thanks. So having to inject it at 3 days interval will not cause me roller coaster mood. But how about the 50mg progesterone with it? Also same half life?

Progesterone injected will have a VERY short half-life and must be injected on a daily basis to keep levels steady (recommended protocol in pregnant women who take it this way). By the end of 24 hours, levels in most will be very low. By day 2, it's practically all gone. Studies have confirmed this.

@Kay i see so thats why right after injecting i feel dizzy but no headache and need a sleep. But i guess its ok having this 3 days interval or do i have to ask for a prometrium?

Personally, I prefer Prometrium as levels are more steady this way and don't drop too significantly. My own personal preference. You should discuss this with your doctor, now knowing what you know about the pharmacokinetics of progesterone taken intramuscularly.

@Kay Ok kay i will ask him on my next visit. Anyway i dont mind doing daily injection too as the needle is my besty now haha! But if i do that i will have lots of estradiol in my system too because the med contains 5mg benzoate and 50mg progesterone. What do you think?

Discuss this with your doctor. As stated before, I prefer taking progesterone orally. Injecting daily or even 2-3 days wouldn't be something I would particularly enjoy. To each their own. 5 days is the most I would go.
