Anyone collect old military guns?
I have some from WWII, Korean, Vietnam and Gulf wars.
I love the historic value and shooting at targets. My favorite is my M1. It was a real battle rifle. Its was used in the Pacific in WWII and again in the Korean war

My friend does, and last year my boss walked in with an Arisaka for sale. It wasn't duffel cut, had an intact Mum on it, and the cleaning rod, anti-aircraft sights, and bipod were all there. There was no sling, unfortunately. It seemed like a good deal for $250. I'll see if I can get a photo or two of it.

The Garand is a beautiful rifle...wish I still had mine. Years ago I got it for $300, but after a couple years in a moment of insanity I traded it straight across for an AR-15a2...

Got an M1a a few years later, but it just didn't have the balance, handling, or ergonomics of the Garand.

I trained with an M1 in ROTC in high school. I've always been interested in old pre civil war weapons. I don't collect or buy them but I do enjoy seeing them in museums. I shoot with a camera these days.

Speaking of black powder...1858 Army (Pietta?), it is a BLAST! to shoot (haha, see wut I done thar?) and my next will be a 32 Rem, looks like a mini Army...

I used to have an FFL so right up front I admit I cheated.  Still, if it's smokeless and not French I've very likely owned at least one at this point, with just a few exceptions. 

I'll concede that a good FAL is objectively better than almost any alternative, but there really is just something about a Garand.  It has no serious competition as the best rifle of its generation, it's a wonderful shooter in its own right, and simply holding one you can almost feel the history just speaking to you across the years.  If you've been touched by an M1 Garand, you've got the quality part of a collection covered in one gun. 

I had a M1, stupidly sold it to my brother when I had shoulder surgery and ended up buying another.  It's 90% Winchester parts including the trigger group and receiver but it's still a mixmaster.  I have several Russian 91/30s including a 1933 hex receiver Tula arsenal.  I have an 03-A1 with the cutout for a Pederson device and an 03-A3 but unfortunately both have been sporterized.  While none of them were military pistols, I have several Colt 1911's.  To me, the 1911 is the same in a pistol the M1 Garrand is in a rifle.  Perfection.

I've got an 1853 Enfield, reproduction unfortunately.  I used to use it for reenacting. I also have my grandfather's M1911 he carried in New Guinea and his M1903 Springfield, but it's the sporterized rather than the military version so it has a different stock.

For more modern military I have a Beretta 92F.

I don't have any old stuff but I do have an AK and an AR and I love them both. It took owning to see why people love them so much. One of the milsurp guns I want to own is a Mosin. I would just love an old beat up WW2 russian rifle

Mosin's are great the first four shots.  Then the pain nerves in your shoulder connect with your brain.

The full size 1891s are actually fairly pleasant, but the M44 carbines are just too brutal to be any fun. 

Years ago I had a mosin-nagant, and read something online where they compare a nagant with the ar and ak...

The only bit I can remember is something about "shellac and Olga's toenail clippings"....

Last year when I was at the range, there was a nice gentleman who let me shoot his rifle. It had a shoulder pad on it and personally I found it pretty easy to shoot. It had a scope and looked pretty nice. The scope had the hammer and wheat sickle of soviet russia on it. It was definitely cool. I could feel the blast wave from the rifle and at 100 yards the bullet passed completed through a gong target I was shooting at. It made me want a bolt action rifle.

I should note that my comments are from the point of having a rebuilt right shoulder with one entry point scar right under where the butt of a rifle sits.

Sounds like one of the sniper versions of the 91/30 like was used in the movie "Enemy at the Gates."  If it was an original WWII scope and rifle, you got to shoot a treasure.

Others have mentioned ARs and Model 92s.  I have a Colt AR-15 (M4 style) but of course semi-auto along with another AR-15 I built in .300 Blackout which I understand some SEALs are using now because the caliber is easily suppressed.  I also have a model 92 although not a Beretta. 

My grail gun would be an actual U.S. Cavalry issued 1873 Colt Single Action Army but I'm not spending the cost of GRS for one.

I always wondered if transitioning from MTF and taking all these hormones was going to kill off all my hobbies and I would start Knitting . NOPE !

I don't want to veer away from topic but we have the same toys, I have a road King and a zx14 too!  That Norton is awesome!

I present as male for now, but I love out shooting a bunch of guys at the range while I'm wearing stockings, garter, pink panties and freshly shaved legs under my shooting outfit.  If they knew they would keel over on the spot!

LoL , yes , the Boys at the range , or my old Biker buddies .
If I would have presented TG MTF to my ole crew I would have been murdered . Not joking , I'm an old 81 Nomad .
Guns , we have everything from a 1740 Potzdam Musket too an HK MP5 , and and everything in between , its silly good :-)
My biggest turn on lately are my Cap and Ball Revolvers , 60 of those , and I got into premium high power air rifles too , RWS , HW stuff like that , 24 of those . One of my RWS Rifles wears a $1,400 Mark 4 Leapold if that tells you anything about this Girl :-)
