I was browsing through tumblr when i saw a post about PL reopening under new ownership.

From what ive seen so far, they are making strides to repair the damage done previously by the company.

I had ordered from PL numerous times, and while my experience was never partqicularly bad, there were many who did suffer from a horrible experience. By the end I had one order remaining, this time for a $250 Freetom product. I was told no refunds and was given store credit to use later (which i never did).

The new owners put out a post to contact them about past orders. I was skeptical of anything being resolved since my order was placed nearly 6 months ago. To my surprise, the person i spoke to via email was prompt, and was able to refund my entire purchase in just about 10 minutes.

I havent had a chance to interview the new owners yet or test their "14 day guarantee". I do plan on doing both though.

I figured I would put a post in here to update about what i have jeard so far. Are there any questions you have for the new ownership team?

Id like to get a feel for some other peoples ideas. After theyve responded i will post about the results here as well.

I will also be placing an order for a funnel harness and packing underwear. I will be testing the new owners manufacturing skills. Comparing them to the previous owners and seeing if there are any improvements (or downgrades) in quality of products.

I will report back here with all of my findings. So far, i am skeptical, but trying to keep an open mind.

My only question is, are they actually new owners or just saying they are to try to fix their business? ::)

IMO, there are better sites in existence that meet our needs. If I were them, I would've closed and rebranded if they wanted to try again. 100% not interested in ever giving them my business.

They are actually new owners.

I do agree though, I'm not sure why they didn't re-brand under new ownership. From what I have seen it looks like they did it to help manage the older orders which were neglected by the old owners. They have been upfront and honest about the past (which they do not support) and have been working to correct those wrongs.

I am someone who believes in giving everyone an opportunity. While reviews are important, i think everyone's view point is different. Things that one person agrees with or supports may not be the same as another. This is a new set of people running the show and Id like to see what they have to offer before dismissing them.

If the new owners are able to successfully manage the responsibilities of having a company with problems (such as handling the past, not just sweeping it under the rug), and maintain positive values for the new customer base, then I would consider supporting them. What happened before was not their fault, but it is the new owners responsibility to acknowledge the past and to make the necessary efforts to correct the situation.

I wont be giving a solid yay or ney until i order from them and see how that goes. Id also like to see others reviews as well, so if anyone does order from them, I may contact you about using your review information for a solid write up about the new ownership and what it could mean for the company as a whole.

I got my package today. I placed my order on Friday June 10th and received it 8 business days later. They say it can take up to 14 business days just to get in the mail, so I would consider this pretty good timing.

I ordered a "Funnel Harness" Which is basically the same as their freetom harness, just for more generic usage. I also ordered a pair of packing boxers with a packing pouch insert

Packaging: Basic, discreet, similar to every other trans business out there

Funnel Harness:
The biggest reason I decided to purchase again was for a quality check. Last time (under the old owners) I ordered a FreeTom Harness, and well the design was spot on for what I wanted, BUT the quality was awful. It was not reinforced at all,  and the whole thing basically fell apart and needed repairs right at about 2 weeks. This time with the "Funnel Harness", the quality is AWESOME. These new owners ACTUALLY know how to sew, so the seems were clean, and after tugging on them quite a bit , not a single thread pulled. They've also added some straps for the top half of the funnel that often falls forward. This prevents funnels and flaps from doing so.

The elastic also seems to be much higher quality. The other harness I had bought seemed to be run of the mill walmart elastic, where as this stuff is actually pretty durable. The sizing was a little small at first, but I know that was done on purpose so that when the harness starts to stretch out, it will fit for much longer instead of becoming loose and baggy.

Packing Underwear:
Previous when I purchased a pair of this packing underwear, the pouch was sewn in horribly, there was even a hole in one of the seems. This time, the seems were finished nicely, but still relatively discreet through the front. When pulled on, they did not fray. Where as perviously, if you pulled on the pocket it felt like the whole thing would just rip out.

Customer Service:
I loved Anthony, he was kind and honest, but he was in WAYYYY over his head, and let the problems get the best of him. These new guys are AMAZING. I contacted them when they first opened about a refund for an old order I never received. Within 10 minutes they had my refund on its way to me. I also contacted them prior to placing my order to ask a few questions about processing times, shipping times, etc. They were very nice and prompt. I never waited more than 2 days to receive a response (more often it was within the hour). They answered every one of my questions. When my order was placed I received a text message text message telling me when I could expect a shipping confirmation (Which I got much earlier than anticipated), and also a notice of how much of my order was donated to the Orlando Relief Fund.

My shipment arrived nearly 13 business days earlier than I was expecting it. Inside everything was nicely wrapped (I know there were times the old owners just shoved it in a box without packaging it properly) and there was two papers inside, one which apologized for the previous owners, and another which talked about the Orlando Relief Fund.

SUMMARY: Overall, I was very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely order from them again. They seem to be doing a decent job at fixing some of the mistakes of the previous owners while providing our community with a low cost shop for the basics.

I totally agree. Why not rebrand if truly trying to repair a relationship...
Also, I disagree with middlemen in this case. Why would I order a freetom from them rather than direct from freetom.

The new guys are not really a middleman like the old ones were. They are more like Tranzwear now, they offer basics from a distributor, and the rest is their own gear.

I still havent figured out why they didnt rebrand, but so far ive heard other good reviews about new orders, refunds, replacements etc. Good things from guys who went through some of the worst run arounds from them. This gives me hope for these new guys, but im not holding my breath yet. Just optimistic
