Hello all, I'm starting to seriously (as opposed to humouressly) plan my various surgeries and wanted to know if anyone had any recent experiences with Dr. Rossi and his team. I've started emailing Amanda and will send them the requested pictures tomorrow. I'm curious about how his prices are. Is he still amongst the more affordable surgeons? I've read a lot of good things about him, his staff, clinic, etc. so cost is my main concern. I'm thinking about him for BA as well as FFS.

can you define recent?  Some of us went to Dr Rossi last year.  From what I can tell few of us still frequent Susans on a regular basis.

I was hoping for something from this year, within the past few months.

If you've been emailing Amanda she will provide a detailed evaluation with suggested procedures, along with pricing in USD.

Even though we aren't lucky enough to have his most recent patients posting here, Dr. Rossi has been busy in last few months. In the next two weeks, Amanda will be updating the site with lots of new before/afters (she told me this because she might want want to use my pics). Check his Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/FacialFeminizationSurgeryArgentina/?fref=nf/url]. The before/afters from May 6 are from a recent patient. I think it looks great, although it's still very early in terms of healing.

T-Change/Dr. Rossi is one the most affordable places you can aggressive FFS but there are some caveats, including travel expenses and less experience than other doctors, including Dr. DiMaggio who is also in Buenos Aires. You can't go wrong with either of these doctors, they are both extremely skilled. I'm pretty happy with my results from Dr. Rossi but I'm going back for revisions, additional procedures, and a breast augmentation. Part of it is I'm a perfectionist. I know other women who were thrilled with the initial results and don't need to go back, but be warned, if it doesn't go as well as you want, you'll have to pay for travel costs again. Dr. Rossi stands by his work and will fix anything you are unhappy with, but you'll have to pay OR and anesthesia fees (which were minimal).

Feel free to PM any specific questions. Amanda will give you the most up to date price quotes.  Deeiche is a great resource too and she's pretty cool ;) I'm sure she'll be willing to answer a few questions like me.

Thank you for the responses. I've also sent DiMaggio an email via his contact form to get a consult with him. How are his prices compared to Rossi?

I just received an estimate of work and price quote from DiMaggio's office based on the pics I sent them and he is out of my price range. I'm going to see what Rossi has to say but I sincerely hope he is not nearly as expensive.

If you don't mind, what was the price he quoted you?

When I contacted both surgeons for prices a year and half ago, both of them were under $20k for full ffs. The difference between the 2 surgeons was about $5k for the exact same set of procedures. Dr. DiMaggio has more experience however, but the results are very similar. Both do the most aggressive forehead surgeries I've seen outside of Dr. Ousterhout before he retired, and Dr. Deschamps-Braly currently. See for yourself on both of their websites. Amanda will be updating the T-Change website very soon with more results. Here are mine below for my profile. My surgery with Dr. Rossi, same angle, same camera, same lighting:

Check KarmaGirl's results from Dr. DiMaggio, they are incredible. Buenos Aires is an fantastic place to get FFS. While you are there, you can also get hair transplants for very cheap. I got them there as well (you can see in the above pictures).

Be warned however; if there are complications, which could happen, you will have to pay all those travel costs to go back to get issues fixed. Both surgeons stand by their work and will do revisions with only the OR/anesthesiologist/hospital fees, which are relatively minimal.

With either one of them, you will be very happy :)

I like your result!

They do hair transplants only for the hair line or in general?

Thanks :) So what happened, which you can read in my thread, was that Dr. Rossi did a behind the coronal incision which pulled my hairline back further than I wanted. I also wanted the corners more rounded than was possible. So I made the decision less than a week before I left to go out and get transplants. Cost me less than $2k for 1400 grafts all the way around the front - from the sides to the corners and even a cm in the front. I probably didn't need them in the front haha. I did them 2 1/2 weeks after my initial ffs even though there was swelling in my forehead. Worked out fine as you can see.

The doc could probably do some in your crown too, if you wanted. However, you have to sleep on your back after ffs/transplants for a while so it might not be the best idea.

The hair grew through Dr. Rossi's coronal incision now, so now I have nice hairline with no scar ;D Turned a less than ideal situation into a good one.

Here's a recent pic that better shows the hairline:

Hair transplants in Buenos Aires are sooooo inexpensive, people make the trip just to get them.  After reading RubyAliza's thread last year I decided to get them too, but went with FUE 'cause I did not want another long incision on my head.  For the same amount of grafts FUE was USD3200.  I am very happy with the results.

I too think RubyAliza looks very good, especially when you compare to what the surgeon started with.  Dr Rossi's bone work can be very aggressive.  Take a look at my thread to see before/after profile Xrays.

If you don't mind, what was the price he quoted you?

31,000 USD with an additional 5,000 for BA and 2,000 for optional rhinoplasty; all done over the course of two surgeries.

I just received the quote from Amanda and Dr. Rossi is much, much less expensive and also recommending less. DiMaggio wants to do a neck and face lift, Rossi didn't say anything about it. The price Amanda gave me is 13,500 USD with an additional 3,300 for BA and 1,000 for an upper blephorasty.

Too be fair, Dr. DiMaggio was quoting you for two separate surgeries. Even though they could be done together, like Dr. Rossi did with Deeiche (hi!) you would get technically better results if they were done separately. I'm guessing that's why he want to do that. You might ask KarmaGirl, I think she might now the answer to why two surgeries. I think the reason why Amanda and Dr. Rossi didn't mention anything about the face/neck lift was that they probably would want to focus on the bone work and the initial ffs first. Oftentimes people get the lifts when the swelling is much abated.

Still, though, Dr. DiMaggio is much more expensive then when I got my initial quote. Dr. Rossi's is about the same to be honest. My upcoming subpectoral, under the armpit incision breast augmentation with him is also 3,300.

Still, it's not the time to make decisions too much based off of price. It's your call. This is your face afterall ;) Choose carefully and ask about complications. Ask Amanda for the new before/afters not on the website yet or at least ask her to put them up soon :)

I've read MdM does more extensive FFS with two different surgeries over 2-3 week period.  If you read through previous MdM reports you'll see what procedure gets done when.

I don't know if you read my thread, Dr Rossi surgery Sept 16, it is pretty detailed.

I had extensive age related soft tissue work done with the bone procedures.  The initial quote from Amanda recommended two different surgeries, initial bone work, then followup in the future with the soft tissue work.  She did say they could all be done at the same time, but the results would not be as effective. Results would still be good, just not as good if done separately.  I decided to get all the procedures at the same time.  Plus, after reading RubyAliza's thread, ended up getting hair transplants the last week I was in BA.

I knew once I went through surgery I would not want to put myself and my partner through another recovery period.  We've been together for 17 years, 16 when I went for surgery.  She did not think I needed surgery, but knew my brow had always bothered me.  The worst part was we would be apart for 4.5 weeks, as she couldn't take that much time off from work.

I'm happy with the results.  Sure it might have been better if I'd spaced it out over several procedures but if I'd done that I would not be looking at my new and improved face in the mirror every morning.

You are in good hands with Dr Rossi and his team.  Amanda is awesome, the interpreters that stay with you in hospital are awesome too.

31k for FFS with Dr Dimaggio? Omg I guess prices did increase?

Thank you all, I really appreciate the input. I'm going to go with Dr. Rossi for a number of reasons. Cost is an issue but everyone who has gone to him seems very happy with the results and I have found Amanda to be very easy to talk with, very personable, she did a great job explaining everything and the rationale whereas DiMaggio's group has been more business like and not as personable. I don't even know the name of the person I've been speaking with there.

You spoke with MDM himself...  he prefers to answer directly and doesnt have an administrator or someone like that.

Hospital fees add up... cost for operating theater and room and other fees that go along are about $5000 in that medical center... count that twice for two surgeries, if both surgeries need to be done there. And soft tissue work like facelifts, etc arent the cheapest procedures. Prices for "regular" FFS procedures (forehead-nose-chin-jaw) are probably not much different as they were.
