I've only recently reached 95% certainty that I'd like GCS/SRS so I'm just evaluating some of the things I *may* miss post-op.

I tend to think that as long as you don't actually miss your penis the rest doesn't really matter. That would be kind of awkward.

may I add, pre-op I used to hover too and it was easier back then when you can direct the stream. Post op, you might not have the luxury of being able to direct it properly. Sitting and squatting produces different kind of stream on my case, need to work on the squatting.

Yikes! Is that even possible for  PostOp?

I mean I can actually pee but I have a very strong urine flow so it's like a high powered sprinkler.  If I attempted to do that i would everywhere.

If I don't want to sit on a public toilet then I hover over it. Especially at Transbars which have the most disgusting restrooms ever.

Hmm - no poison ivy here, just nettles and such - but I would not squat in a way that anything touches me from below while I do that anyways - so it would not matter. I always carry a pack of paper wipes with me , so I try not to touch myself either because getting dirty hands there can cause me pimples and such - plus I do not want to have the pee on my hands either... So I think this is not that hard to avoid. 50% of the hikers have to deal with this and I doubt many of them have those thingies to stand up while peeing ;)

When I was pre-op I forced myself to sit and pee like a lady. Now, that I am post-op I am so use to sitting, its natural. I don't miss it at all.

Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

New here, but I can answer this.
Peeing like a male is only suitable for people living as males. I lived for 3 years as a pre op female, in which I found it would be difficult to pee like a male. Work clothes consist of knee length skirt and pantyhose. I found it impossible to lift skirt, down with pantyhose and panties, then stand to pee. In this situation, it was easier to sit, let alone the risk of dribbles. Even with everyday clothing, such as jeans, it is not as simple as "flopping it out like males". Once again down the jeans, panties, sit and then the dreaded tuck to get it all right again.

I actually find it much more easier and simple living as a post op female. The peeing thing is simple, Today's casual clothing (loose fitting skirt) simply lift the skirt, panties to knees, sit, small peek at cotton gusset for discharge, toilet paper, quick wipe, panties up and go.  How simple is that. Yes living as a male is simple for peeing, but life as a female is not difficult and I would never change a thing.

Standing was never simple for peeing. Always uncomfortable at urinal next to another guy.  Frequently got disgusting wet spot on trousers due to getting the last spurt after tucking it back in.  Sitting has become the natural thing even though still living as male.

So do any of you post-op girls miss being able to pee standing up?

I don't very often, but on occasion in my less graceful moods I just do.

Perhaps my query is more about whether anyone misses having a choice about it?

Not at all. Not that I ever peed standing up pre-op after I started transition anyway.

I had sat down to pee for years before I even transitioned. It just felt better to me.
Once post-op, it was just pretty natural to continue doing this, and now it feels like I've always done things this way.
But it does remind me of a funny story. Once, not too long after I had had my op, I got up in the night go to for a pee. I was really half-asleep, and not exactly sure of what I was doing. And for some strange reason, I stood up, in front of the toilet, and fumbled for ages trying to find my willy. Of course I could not, and after a certain amount of fumbling had passed I muttered: "where is the damn thing?!"
I got annoyed and fully woke up and looked down to try to find it. At this point I remembered, and: "ahh, ohh you silly cow!" was what I uttered forth. Before turning around and sitting and peeing as usual whilst having a good laugh at myself. It's the kind of story I could only ever recount to other M2Fs, really.

I may still have part of my original equipment intact, tho shrunk 50%.... but I can say I haven't stood up to pee since starting hormones. I could not ever imagine standing to pee.

My husband asked me the same question when we were still just talking on the phone.

this might sound stupid.. but its true.. when i sit to pee.. i have to be very careful or i pee all over the floor.. my peeing bit is kind of recessed.. and the upshot is the more i push down, the more the stream points up.. ( it then hits the bottom of the seat and trickles down the outside of he bowl..) Horray for surgery in 3 months to fix proper..
new beginning 5/15...
HRT 7/15...

That's a funny experience from V. I bet you were pleased you couldn't find "it" there. I have not done anything like that, but in the early days getting dressed after showering etc, when putting on and pulling up my panties, I did go to find "it" and do the tuck, only to find nothing there, this did bring a smile. But honestly girls I can not even imagine what it would be like to have a penis after all these years. I am very comfortable with my body and everything feels right, and as previously mentioned the peeing bit is easy and I do not have a choice anyway.

I have now sat or squatted to pee full time for 19 years and it is natural for me to do so.  I never even consider standing.  My wife gave up intercourse over 7 1/2 years ago due to dryness and discomfort.  Thus, those parts  >:-) are just unnecessary, inconvenient, disgusting and unwanted.  It would be great if I could get total removal with a proper urethra relocation.

Ha ha, yeah, I was very pleased not to suddenly find 'it' back down there again!
It took a while for my internal body map to reconfigure itself, but nowadays it's fine. I remember straight after having my op, and putting my hand down there, and my brain subconsciously expecting my hand to touch 'it', and it was such a weird feeling, like I was passing my hand through something that was no longer there. Like 'phantom limb syndrome' or something like amputees get, maybe?
I did (and occasionally still do) suffer from phantom pains 'down there'. As though some part of my male genitalia is really hurting, but of course there is nothing there to hurt, and it doesn't make much sense. Like an itch you cannot scratch.
I certainly don't want it back ever, no not ever! I'm pleased at how I look now, well as much as one can I guess.

Does it ever feel like you have been kicked in nuts even though you don't have them anymore?

No never had that feeling. But occasionally I do get very short bouts of very very sharp pain, I literally stop in my tracks and double up in pain. It's like I can feel every one of those stitches pulling.
Only happens once every few months though, so I just 'suck it up'.
