Would it be worth getting checked for Klinefelter's?

Hi everybody, I'm going to my first appointment to see a doctor about my gender issues (I've been aware that I'm transgender for 6 years and finally worked up the courage to do something about it) in a week and I would like to know whether I should get tested for Klinefelter's.

Apparently it took me an extremely long time to begin walking.
I developed very severe gynecomastia (currently a 40DD) during puberty with painful glandular development at about age 14.
My err... downstairs area is quite small and didn't appear to develop much during puberty.
I'm 20, but have an extremely young face and often get aged at about 16 or 17.
Female pubic hair pattern.
Wider hips than shoulders (but only by a few inches)
longer lower body than upper body.
Long eyelashes (which were commonly joked about as I was growing up)
My index and ring fingers are roughly the same length
I have facial hair, it grows extremely slowly and is very patchy.
I'm extremely clumsy and when forced to play sports as a child was extremely uncoordinated.

Now there are some caveats:
I'm overweight and some of my breast tissue is no doubt a result of that; however there's a large amount of glandular tissue and they're not sized in accordance with my body.
I had no issues with language development and was speaking full sentences long before I began walking.
I do have back and chest hair, but both are extremely sparse.
I'm not particularly tall at about 5'10"

Thanks everybody!

Hi Kris, they should check your base levels for hormones before prescribing you HRT if your hormone levels come back as possible klinefelters then it's probably worth getting a karyotype test to check chromosomes if that's something you want to know.

I've met a few people with klinefelters and their symptoms varied a lot. So not having the entire list doesn't mean you don't have it.

20 is still young but no harm in knowing. Everyone would tell me at that age, your fine you are just a late bloomer. Which ended up being not the case.
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Thanks for that, my apologies for replying so very, very slowly. It's been a bit of a hectic week and since posting I came out to my sister (who was ridiculously supportive). I'll wait to see the results of my blood tests as you suggested after I've sorted everything out before I get too stressed about getting a karyotype .
Thanks!

It's definitely worth getting a karyotype done. The uncertainty will end, and you can take appropriate action depending on the result.

I can relate, didn't have facial hair til I was 19 thats after 3 yrs of dry shaving only can grow a goatee and a mustache the rest still grows patchy. Puberty hit me at 13 and backfired grew a AA breast, couldn't gain weight til I was 26 and that was because my wife is a great cook. My I Q on the other hand was tested out to 175 so I was ignored by the teachers,im a very fast learner. Now I'm 50 and look 35, no male hairloss my hair grows like a womans hair. I know I have a hormone imbalance but crossdressing keeps it at bay,im a chameleon I can pass for male or female. I just never for tested for I am comfortable just being me.

Hey
I have several symptoms that appear on articles about Klinefelter's but never had severe gynecomastia or underdeveloped genitals. Is there still a risk that I may have it? Is it worth getting checked?

One of the pre-karyotype assurances of a KS diagnosis is the condition of your testes:  are soft and larger than an olive or are they small and hard?  If they are the latter, you have a much better chance for KS.  Otherwise, you're likely to be wasting your money.  Having KS can be medically complicated and if not properly treated, will cause many problems later in life.

Hear your Master's voice.
Fly to the highest
As little wings go
Until, ascending,
You need them no more.

I've wondered if I have it too based on similar stuff. The only things about me that are male are my voice and what's between my legs. Even my pre-HRT hormone levels were in the female range. And although I feel like I have a deep voice, most people that know me wonder why I get so worried about my voice for passing, saying my normal voice is just fine. I also frequently get pegged for 16 when I'm over 40. But like you, I don't have the short stature and we have similar IQs that also don't fit the profile.

But what would it really change for me? I'm about as healthy as anybody can be, so I don't see any health risks without knowing. All the test will do for me is cut into my GCS funds.
