For those of you lucky enough not to be familiar with Texas politics, the Lieutenant Governor is arguably the most powerful man in the state.  It's a weird system.  But nobody should be happy it's only the Lieutenant Governor involved in this nonsense.   

Not that Abbott is a good guy either, but that's its own problem. 
When in doubt, ignore the moral judgments of anybody who engages in cannibalism.
