Well, it was very hard but I finally got up the courage (with some help from alcohol, lol) to tell my mom that I'm transgender and that I was thinking of transitioning. It took a bit to actually explain to her what being transgender was and it went pretty well. She said that she just wants me happy and to do whatever I want to make that possible. Tho, now I just worry about my dad. I was very close to him growing up and he's a bit religious being against same sex marriage and all that. He lives several states away so I might end up telling him when there's noticeable changes whenever I see him next.

Contratulations.

Hardest conversation I've ever had in my life, and I've had a few. It felt like the parent child dynamic was totally switched, and your mothers happiness is in your hands - and I've had that too, but never to this extent. Not comfortable. Very well done, so pleased your mother is dealing with it.

I know my mother isn't, whatever she says - I spoke to her this morning, and I could tell in her voice that her holiday that she goes on today was shattered. I wouldn't be happy if it was my child. I wouldn't even be thrilled with my child being gay, let alone this, because you just want your loved ones to sail through life without the difficulties.
