Hello,  I just received my Reelmagik STP a few days ago and have had absolutely no luck adhering it or getting it positioned correctly.  I was wondering if anyone here has had any luck in either regard and would be able to lend some advice about what I may be doing wrong or what the problem could be.

Problems with adhesive:  I ordered the extra strength adhesive, and no matter how long I let it cure, it will not lose it's "tacky-ness;" I can stick it on, and no matter whether I press it into place for 3 minutes or for fifteen, it will begin to detach along the edges of the tab begin to slide downward almost immediately (leaving adhesive in its path), and the back wedge area will fall away from my body within 5 to 10 minutes. I did shave the attachment area and pretreated it with rubbing alcohol before attempting adhesion.  I do know that my package was on a UPS truck in 96 degree weather for almost 13 hours on the day it was delivered and everything inside was extremely hot when I received it, and have wondered if this had any negative effect on the adhesive.

Problems with positioning:  I cannot get the product into the correct position; I am slightly overweight, perhaps this is the issue.  If I position the tab first, the wedge is nowhere near where the pamphlet says it should be, and is possibly not even far enough back to cover my urethra (I can't tell even though I have observed the area with a mirror and am aware of its location as once the stp is covering the area, I can't see it).  It feels as if the "no-drip lip" portion of the wedge may be covering the urethral opening, leading to the possibility of gluing it closed underneath the stp.  If I position the wedge first, (still not as far back as the pamphlet recommends, as this would put the balls almost behind my legs) the shaft and balls are too far down between my legs leaving me unable to walk without employing a comically wide gait (cartoon bow-legged cowboy status), and I don't think the shaft would reach my fly in this position; I definitely wouldn't be able to pee in anything like basketball shorts where I'd have to pull down the front.

I would greatly appreciate any advice, especially from people who have this model of stp and have had success with it.

No real advice as I never adhered mine, but you are on point as far as the positioning issues I had.  I'm also overweight, which I think is a factor, maybe? But I really do think it's more a design issue that most STPs have (needing to rest completely between the legs vs. a more realistic position).

Likely the tab is sliding down nearer the position it needs to be in.  When I first started with this type of prosthetic I tended to place it too high too.  They do have to ride pretty low.  I would never glue a prosthetic on the under side - regardless of what the instructions said!  As for positioning, you will have to practice at home (naked to start, then add underwear, etc.) the key to success is gettin the cup positioned far enough back AND leaning forward!  For example, once positioned back far enough, hold it with one hand and lean forward with your other hand on the wall (or whatever) in front of you.

I have several different STP's and two different prosthetics. Each one has its own little quirks to success but these two things are consistent with all of them.  I am not overweight, but I do STP exclusively.  Jeans and pants add another layer of difficulty that requires much patience and practice. Unless very loose in the crotch they almost always require lowering further than I like - especially at a urinal.

With your RM, NOT glued (especially on the underside, you should be able to position it for packing and reposition for peeing.  Hope that helped - keep practicing and be prepared to wash out your underwear often while you learn.  Good Luck!

I think all they'd have to do to improve it is to make the tab thinner and increase the length of the cup from behind the scrotum to the end of the wedge.  I'm not convinced the wedge would reach where it says it should on anyone as is, even someone with a 28-32 inch waist, and have things positioned properly.

I feel like it's a waste of money if I can't glue it on; the point of paying over $600 was to not have to wear a harness or go through any unnatural sequence of motions at the urinal or even worry about leakage.

I've read some of your other posts on here too, and I agree about their color chart being too light.  I'm multiracial (mostly black and white) and I ordered the second darkest standard color, and it's really light; too light for anyone who isn't white or maybe Asian.  That means there's only one option for anyone who isn't white (and 5 for those who are) that doesn't cost $115 extra, which is a shame.

I do not use are sort of harness with my RM STP, just good underwear. I have (and still do) considered adhesive on the tab, but NOT on the under side (but that's just me. From my experience with another adhered prosthetic - the underside is not somewhere I want to deal with adhesive.  Now - if you EVER find a prosthetic that doesn't require much fussing, positioning and controlling and mostly not worrying about leaking!!! - PLEASE do let me know!!!  I don't think it exists!  Although I would say I do worry LESS about leaking with the RM than with my other prosthetic - by far.

This may be why maxman finds the yet released Emisil STP to work.  It makes sense to me:  http://nothingwrongwithus.tumblr.com/post/109904984382/review-of-emisil-3-in-1-note-this-product-is

dnoneal, I also want to acknowledge your other point that it is unfair (and unacceptable, I personally think), that someone who isn't caucasian would have to pay $115 to get a color that suits their needs.

It DOES exist!  The EZP STP.  http://transthetics.com/the-real-ezp/

Of course, it may not look exactly like most STPs (the hanging balls and hanging scrotum), but I have yet to meet a guy who has problems peeing with it (unless the guy he is not able to spread his legs wide enough for there to be enough space between the thighs to stick it under to pee without squashing the cup).

I wear it with tighter briefs and it doesn't ride up after sitting down.  It takes me two seconds to spread my legs and settle it between them to go.  The shaft is at a 45 degree angle, so I don't need to lean over the toilet like so many other STPs.  It is the same length as flaccid natal penises, so it looks normal when peeing and also when packing.  Sure it doesn't adhere, but you really don't need it to when your briefs hold it against you.

There is no downside to this prosthetic besides the wait list (for me, anyway).

I know I prop this STP up a lot, but it is because it really has changed my whole world and I want guys to know about it.  I did not pack on a daily basis until this STP because the costs outweighed the benefits.  That is not true when it comes to this STP.

I had a Reelmagik STP. Definitely was a huge disappointment. Wouldn't stay adhered no matter what methods/ adhesives I tried, and the stp function was iffy for me.... 1/2 of all attempts of using it ended in a mess down my leg.

I ended up giving mine away. I just got a eroticreations 5.5 stp in yesterday and so far it's leaps and bounds better. And cost way less. Sure it doesn't have the same attention to detail for looks, but it still looks good.

I've had the RM STP for a few months now and it works fantastic for me...never had any issues with the adhesive or with urinating through it. Not sure what you are doing that it won't stick...the extra strength adhesive they sell is super strong and I find it even a little hard to pull off sometimes when I want to remove it. Make sure you don't use the adhesive remover on the tab, as it will cause the adhesive to not stick! Make sure you clean the area properly too...any oils on the skin will prevent it from sticking well. I had some minor issues when I bought my first RM prosthetic a few years back, and they helped me through the problems I had with the adhesive and I found that it worked great when I did it correctly. Contact them and ask for some help...I'm sure they will do what they can. Best of luck!

While I was looking into adhesives, I found this thread. Do you guys think if another brand of medical adhesive was used, it would work or wouldn't recommend it?

It took me a while to get used to this one too. Like a long time.
First off, adhesive doesn't work for me either. I wear my product with a harness. It feels more secure that way. Also, this goes hand in hand with positioning. I pack in a slightly different position than I pee, so a harness allows for movement. I pack 'up and in front', then push it 'back' further to pee. I think that's a mistake many of us make, is trying to pee without pushing it back. Our pee comes from much further back than we often think. The 'no drip lip' almost touches my anus when I push it back to pee.
