Hey everyone!

It's been a long time since I last posted here.  I know the topic of electrolysis has been discussed on its own here at length, but I wanted to get an idea from this group on how much electrolysis I would need specifically after laser hair removal.

I've already undergone 8 sessions of LHR, and plan on doing 3 more of these (still some dark hairs left).  After LHR, I intend on doing electrolysis to take care of the remaining whites that sparsely appear on my chin.  Here are a few pictures so you have an idea of what my response has been to laser:

As you can see, it's been effective, but I still think I have a shadow, especially if I do a lazy shaving job.  And I shave every day still FYI.  How many hours of electrolysis do you think I might need?

I had 6 laser sessions with Diode followed by about 150 hours of electrolysis. With laser, hairs can regrow years later.

In a way you are lucky with those dark hairs  :) I would stick to laser or IPL, for another 6 rounds spread over one year. After that, electrolysis for the hairs that aren't totally black.

I've had 34 IPL, and 6 laser sessions. After that I had about ~40 hours of electro, not sure of the total but it's close. Right now I can count the hairs that grow out.  they still grow though...

I've participated in this subject many times. Laser can do a good job and I recommend that you do laser until all ypur dark hairs are gone..this my take more laser sessions than you planned. I had so many laser treatments on my face maybe 20 and still have the occasional dark hair. I also had alot of white hairs...it happens with age and have had over 200 hours of electrolysis. In electrolysis I had thermal and galvanic..the Galvin method while much more painful is much more effective.

Today I have a few stragglers ...mostly white which I still go for electrolysis ...hate those pesky ones left ...maybe 50 or so .

You have to persevere and it's different for each of us.

I want to start of by saying that you look great.  I heard that people like us will end up plucking and possibly shaving for the rest of our lives. :(

I have mostly gray hairs on my chin and it pisses me off to no end

damn the trans curse!

Hair removal is a full time situation for lots of cis woman too :)  When I am getting laser tx the facility is filled with 99% women and I doubt they are all trans.  I hear from lots of women who hate their almost visible mustache hair or the constant shaving of legs and arms.  They hate their leg stubble like I hate my facial stubble.  Femininity has a image for many that includes near hairless bodies these days.  The spas and clinics are thriving! ;D

I have about 120 hours with electrolysis and 3 laser treatments. I need 100 more hours of laser.

Depending on how effective laser is on you will determine the amount of time needed for electrolysis.

I have had about 8 laser sessions and have very little in the way of dark hairs left and have done maybe 10 hours of Electrolysis. Maybe I am weird but what I am seeing is this...when I get an area cleared of grey hair by electrolysis I have yet to see any new grey hairs...what I have seen is regrowth that is dark and then gets zapped by the laser. It has been over 2 weeks since I had my top lip partially cleared and there is no regrowth at all anywhere in the area. I have noticed a few fine dark ones but no grey...so if I can clear the last of my grey out I may only get dark regrowth...which laser will take care of....I hope...so if it keeps going then I probably need another 40+ hrs or so of Electrolysis just to get the first clearance complete.

I had 6 years of IPL on my face and torso, one treatment (2 hr session) every 6 weeks.
After this, most of the hairs remaining were no longer dark, so I switched to electrolysis.
Had about 4 years of that at 1 treatment (1 hr session) per week.
Now I'm living "in stealth", I find it very difficult to let the hairs grow for any further treatment, so I spend between 30 mins and 1 hour every morning plucking the remaining regrowing hairs from my face.
Yeah, it sucks massively, and after about 4 days of plucking, I still need to shave my face with an electric razor.
Life huh?

You may not have so many hours of electrolysis, but you are going to need to do it regularly for a few years since each hair you want to remove needs to be zapped several times before they go dormant. The length of your cycle of regrowth will determine the frequency you can return to get the next zaps in, even if you're like me and have barely an hour worth of hairs to go after, I still need to go in every other month because of the regrowth cycle.
