I'm 61, MTF, and have been on estradiol and (on and off) Spiro for 5 months.  I'm loving what it's doing for me physically, but even more so, psychologically.  I'm looking forward to exchanging experiences and questions with people who are or were, or who are thinking about starting, HRT.

Hi, Laura, and welcome!  I'm another late bloomer, 62 and just getting started, about a month and a half on spiro and a week on estradiol via patch.
Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Hi Laura,
I'm 56 and just admitting to myself what I've always tried to suppress.
I'm in the process of finding a therapist and doctor to get me started on HRT, but I live in a small city in the western U.S. and the nearest help I can find is in the big city, 150 miles more or less away.
Because of the difficulty finding anyone I have thought about self treating but that scares me to death.
Meanwhile, I just keep dressing the part and hope for the best.
Good luck to you, I'm glad to hear that you're loving what it's doing for you.

Welcome Laura! I am another over 60 woman (62). I came here a couple of years ago after I came out to my partner. This is a great place for information and support. I started out my transition thinking I would take it slow, but found this was impossible for me. I have been full time for over almost a year and am now waiting to hear when I GRS date will be. See you around the site!

I'm 56 and about 20 months ago hit rock bottom and began getting some help with this by seeing a psychologist and starting HRT.  Life is greatly improved.
Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being....  - Dan Barker

Hi Laura, you've seen pretty quickly that there are quite a few of us here who are, as Michelle_P described it.....late bloomers.  Let me add a warm Welcome!
