Hi Guys.

I bet this has been asked a gazillion times before.
Just wanted to know if it´s normal to experience some spotting down there if you start T. Having some light cramping too but nothing severe.

Can you expect spotting for a prolonged period of time?

It can happen. I'm nearly 3 years on T, and it happens to me occasionally (most recently last week).

It'd be worth getting your levels checked, as it's possible that they're not quite right. Also, mention it to your GP so they can investigate whether there's anything else causing the spotting.

Thanks. I was freaking out a little about it so really helps to get some input ^^

I´m 5 days on T. I got my levels checked last week when I hadn´t started yet, they said they were in normal range (but yeah I wasn´t on T yet). Do you think I should still get the check?

It usually takes a couple months to go away when you start T. Only five days in, there is nothing wrong. You may have some irregular spotting as it stops as well.

Yes. It took me until 3 months on T to totally stop my period. It was noticeably lighter and shorter each time leading up to the stop, but it was still enough that I had to plan for it.

Based on what I've read from other's experience, it goes away fastest on injections and more slowly on topicals. Not sure why that is, but a friend of mine started shots a few days after I started on gel and his was gone within a month whereas mine dragged on.

And on a longer time line, a lot of guys who have been on T for several years experience breakthrough bleeding if they haven't had a hysterectomy. I'm not sure if it is a frequent or prolonged occurrence, but it can happen.

To be honest I thought it wasn´t shark week, but maybe it is after all. I don´t really keep track of it, never have, which is really impractical now...

I´ll chalk it up as shark week but it is good to now that irregular spotting can occur... I´ll also tell my GP tomorrow just in case. Going to ask her if I can get an endo I can call with these kinds of questions, for peace of mind...

Testosterone has really diminished my dysphoria (with my body), I can cope with it being there even though I don´t like it. I´m not too bothered by shark week, at least I´m not incredibly emotional like I used to be. Which is great!
