It's different for everyone. Some it's only a couple of months, others it is longer. It is all down to your genetics and how your body reacts to the HRT. Just as with genetic girls going through puberty they don't have fully developed breasts over night, it takes months for a bud/bump and years for the full breast to develop. A month is not long in the grand scheme of things, although I know it can feel like forever when you are waiting for results. The soreness is normal and means that something is definitely happening, hopefully you will be seeing results in another month or two.

The soreness is a good sign.  You are probably forming buds of gland tissue, little hard lumps below the skin.  No two folks are going to be alike, but typically around three months you'll start to see some visible growth.

(I'm weird.  Due to a funky pituitary growth dumping something called prolactin into my system, I was primed, and adding Estrodiol at a low level was all it took.  I went from moobs to Tanner Stage 2 in just under two weeks.  Ouch.  My tank tops are all now a bit tight.    )

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Soreness is a very good sign as others have mentioned. It does take time for the structures to below your breast to grow as your breasts develop. It really can take a good year or two sometimes to get to a descent size. Hugs

That's interesting as I've also had a rather high (over 30) prolactin level pre HRT and small moobs that turned into unhideable boobs after just 4 months. Strangely, the prolactin level went down to normal range after just one month on E.

I'm at two months and sore is definitely the word!  My wife says they feel different and she sees a small increase in size.

Based on measurement, my growth began and stopped one month in from 33.5" to 35".  This is measurement of circumference around my bust, but it looks more fuller now instead of cone-shape, and my waist and muscles have become smaller so the bust looks more bigger relative to the rest compared to what it was in the first month.  Measurements are roughly 35" bust, 29" waist, and 35" hip.  Although my waist is much smaller than the rest, this only looks really good from the side... I'm skinny, but I don't have those sweet curves if you're looking at me from the front.

As I have said in other posts, I was on low dose for 5 months to counter dysphoria, and due to relapses, am now on full transition.  Within a month of the increase changes were hugely obvious, which I wasn't quite prepared for💁

I was noticing changes and growth within the first two weeks. Women in my family are C, D and DDs.  My nipples were always erect and tender in the first week.  My body took to E right away.  Hugs Shannon

I wore a t-shirt to work today and while washing my hands I looked in the mirror and noticed that my breasts were very apparent. I usually have on a button down shirt. It seemed to happen rather quickly for me. Almost 3 months. And yes my nipples are rather tender. I did pull my t-shirt a little tighter from the back so they would stick out just a little more at work. I started to feel like one of the girls at work today.
