Hi! I started a low dose of T 7 months ago and it's going well, the hair on my legs and belly is growing plentifully, I'm starting to shave my face and I've even got some back hair which I'm totally cool with etc. However, I spent 30 years tweezing and threading my eyebrows and they have not grown back at all. I did some drag make up the other day and thickening my eyebrows like completely changed my face and made it so much more masc. Does anyone on here have any tips on how to get it back - something tried and tested? The internet has a bunch of suggestions from beauty writers but I'd love to hear from people on this forum. Cheers!

grhysball,

Hi, and welcome to the site. As a person going in the opposite direction you are, I am afraid this is not a subject I can help with much.  However, we have a large membership of guys here that might be able to step in and help out.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

I did a quick search on "can eyebrows grow back" and it seems that they can, although it can take a while. Among the options to jumpstart the growth there were exfoliation, serum, and (just an idea) maybe biotin (the supplement) can help too. Maybe you could just try different things and see what works.

This is one of the links I found, but I suggest you just go on a searching spree yourself :)

Really? Do you just apply it to your eyebrows? I never plucked my eyebrows but they naturally grow kind of patchy I guess (I don't really know how to explain it, but it makes them look thin/shaped) and T hasn't been helping a whole lot.

You could try coconut oil. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine after I lamented to her about how much I wished my eyebrows would grow in thicker, as I too had been plucking and threading mine for years, and it's worked great for me thus far.

Before bed, cleanse the skin on your brow line, dip a cotton ball in pure coconut oil, and apply it gently to your brows/skin. Massage the coconut oil into your brow line and then go to sleep. You can apply it every night and wash it in the morning.

Mixing the coconut oil with castor oil has been said to give faster results if that's something you'd like to try as well.

As a last resort you can also look into permanent makeup (basically a sort of tattoo of makeup, only the ink it is done with is semi-permanent and lasts years but not forever the way actual tattoo ink does).  I had it done to my brows back before I transitioned because they were blonde so it looked like I had no eyebrows, so I am going to have to have it redone in a masculine way since they look so feminine and the hair that grew back to fill them in thick is blonde and, therefore, doesn't hide the permanent makeup.  In the meantime I just use eyeshadow everyday to quickly thicken them up and no one notices--I literally have never had anyone mention it. (The picture of me over there is when I just took black eyeshadow and wiped it across my eyebrows; you can't see the permanent makeup underneath it.  I'd show you a picture but I let my natural hair grow back so it just looks weird now since I don't pluck anymore.)  A suggestion, though, go to someone who does permanent makeup for a living and has TONS of pictures of their work because you do NOT want it messed up.  I paid $850 to have mine done, but the amazing job she did was worth every penny--it looked like individual hairs instead of makeup.  Of course, had I known I was going to transition, I wouldn't have had the girliest eyebrows EVER put on, LOL.  But now I will probably have it redone masculine.
