I've found these videos to be very helpful in practicing my feminine voice without a face-to-face coach or mentor.  It is a playlist of a series by an actual consultant. Enjoy!  ;)

I also found this video helpful because, not only does she give tips on how to practice, she provides info about an app that I've been using to watch my pitch.

Be your own master, not the slave to illusion;
The lord of your own life, not the servant to falsities;
Only then will you realize your true potential and shake off the burdens of your fears and doubts.

In my younger days, I've interacted with a lot of transwomen who had a similar speaking style to the woman in the video. She's a little hard to listen to for some people, but her video is full of useful advice.

Did it have more to do with her "flare" or attitude, or is it her tone or pitch? Just wondering, since I'm trying to work on my own voice in such a way that I avoid certain behaviors or pitches/tones.

Flare and attitude. She's obviously a smart woman, but she's got so much attitude. Her pitch can be improved, but I'm sure she'll get better and better over time. In her case, the head movements and voice all work in concert to give her the look of a brassy Hispanic female. This is in sharp contrast to others I've seen in which they never get out of the gay male voice. She and CandiFLA have two of the better voice videos I've seen so far.

Nice. I'll have to check them out. Thank you!

Thanks for posting this.  I need to work on my pitch and volume, in particular sustaining it for longer periods of time, so I don't eventually waste the time of a speech professional on that, when the really hard part is in all the fiddly details of rhythm and intonation.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

That's a good point about rhythm and intonation. That will have to be the next stage in my voice training, once I get my pitch and tone down (which may be a while, lol).

Lots of good, helpful information here. I like how Theresa breaks the voice down into where it comes from (diaphragm, throat, and nose) and how to speak from these different places. She also goes through the different ways of warming up/exercising the voice and imitating a voice that you like. Pretty good stuff that may have already been covered in other posts, but I like being able to read things in one place from a list (not sure why. Maybe I'm just partial to lists. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). Anyway, enjoy!
