Hello, any help would be appreciated.

I have FFS on 9-16-2016. The instructions say to discontinue HRT 2 weeks prior to surgery. I am on a 9 day cycle and will inject Friday 9-21-2016. I was thinking my last day on hormones would be 9-2-2016 and I would take 2/9th of my normal dose on 9-30-2016. Is this splitting hairs?

I am a bit worried because the recommendation is to start HRT 5 days after FFS which would be 9-22-2026 or 20 days without HRT. The potential of post OP depression and dysphoria is a concern. How was both dysphoria and depression after you had FFS?

I have a very addictive personality. And will get off pain meds ASAP and flush them. My family  (other than my wife and daughter) have very addictive personalities. Any recommendations on how to managed opioids if you have an addictive personality too?

Thank you for your help and advise.

On the HRT, you might want to talk with your endo or the surgeon in order to make sure you have this correct. Doctors are used to questions like this and this time you don't want a mistake as it could delay your surgery. In addition, if you are on a blocker, that may not have the same restrictions as estrogen but again you will need to talk with your doctor about it.

As for the pain medication, if you have somebody you really trust, they might be willing to ration out a few days worth at a time. Unfortunately a pharmacy may have legal restrictions that prevent them from providing this service so will have to look elsewhere, Your therapist if they are close might be willing to hold the medication for you and as they know you pretty well, would know when you risk addiction.
