Hi I'm pre-t and I'm just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on prenatal pills as a help to slowly naturally transition. I suggested to my mother after researching online that I need omega 3, zinc, vitamin d and more and she suggested that I take prenatal pills. So any thoughts on that ? I'd like some advice from the pros.

Hi and welcome to the site.

I am on the other side of the spectrum sandbox. So I cannot come close to answering your question. Sorry. However, there are a lot of guys (and maybe some gals not to mention others between)here that can probably help you out.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:

From what I've read 'natural' medical transitioning simply doesn't work; otherwise many transguys would choose to do it over expensive and lengthy waits to get T. And I haven't heard of vitamins being used for 'natural' transitioning purposes. I took multivitamins and omega 3 for years for my general health but felt no health benefits.

I'd be cautious about reading health information online. Many people perpetuate misinformation. To increase your T levels certain foods can do that as well as exercise.

I am a MTF who occasionally takes prenatal vitamins instead of my daily multivitamin.  Hugs Shannon

The whole thing with natural transition is that you basically have to take supplements, and eat/work out as if you were a professional body builder. That is the only way you'd see any kind of masculinization. Most people do not have the money and time in a day that it takes to do that, plus it's quite discouraging when you see how much quicker and easier it would be to achieve the same results with a T prescription.

My advice would be to just wait for the real deal. Prenatal vitamins aren't meant for you.

There's nothing special about prenatal vitamins. All they are is a multivitamin with Folic acid. Taking a prenatal vitamin daily prevents birth defects* if you become pregnant. And FTMs can get pregnant ... even on T.
