While a binder doesn't work as great for people with larger moobs, they do work well enough that you can usually see a difference if sizing is correct. I think if you can afford one, give it a go! You'd likely be pleasantly surprised, and hopefully, a little more comfortable with yourself.
I would suggest saving for top surgery as soon as possible if you plan on getting it down the track. Costs vary wildly by surgeon and whether or not you have insurance, so those might be things to look into when you begin saving, even if it's just for a ballpark figure of how much you need.
I'm 167cm|5'5", 106.3kg|234.3lbs, with a chest size around a C or D and use an XL gc2b binder. When not binding, my chest protudes farther from my body than my abdomen. When binding, it's the other way around more often than not. I'm not completely flat, but I look like I have gyncomastia or moobs at the least, which given my size and body fat percentage (over 30%), isn't abnormal. I feel far more confident when binding, and wouldn't feel too great leaving the house without it. All the best with binding should you end up trying it out.
