Hi everyone.

With the prospect of Nottingham GIC's 16 month waiting list and being very unlikely to be able to afford private care, I am currently not in the best place. I did, however, find a website called Gender GP (https://gendergp.co.uk/) that appears to be useful.

I was wondering, therefore, if anyone on here has had previous experience with them?

The doctor is providing bridging service and if you search the site you will find a number of references to bridging. It can help a good deal with  the wait period and allow you to start the transition process to the degree you are comfortable with. Others on the site have used bridging and it is a good alternative if you can afford it.

Hi PBP. I've used them for a two month low dose E trial and was very happy with their service. I've posted further detail on my experience in other threads on this site.

I am mostly interested in their bridging work whilst I'm waiting for an appointment with the GIC. Hopefully I can get some mental peace and minor physical changes. At the moment though it appears to either be with these or self-medicate because I cannot hold on for 16 months.

I'm currently emailing them, we'll see how it goes. Did you have to undergo counselling with them before they offered a subscription? I ask because I've gone through 3 appointments with CAMHS already, have been referred to a GIC, only want bridging work currently, and the counselling sessions cost £150. I'm keen to avoid that if possible.

I think the session is required, to ensure they are happy to prescribe. They might be happy to take a letter from your CAMHS counsellor, you could ask them. My session was about an hour over the phone, covering background, past and current mental health, thoughts, feelings and reasons for wanting HRT.
Despite the cost and seeing a separate therapist, I thought it useful to have an independent second opinion on things.
