I just finished my 5th laser treatment and WOW did it HURT. The force of the light actually made my head turn. My face was swollen for about 5 days and I had 3 lumps under skin, one of which broke thru the skin and left an acne look, it's disappearing now. I am not scheduled for another treatment until Feb. and I am thinking of cancelling. I asked her if she changed the settings and she said no and if she used the same settings for both male and female clients and she said yes. What gives, I feel like Iam being taken on a ride. I have been on hormones 20 months and I am wondering if this could be the reason. Has anyone else had similar problems. I haven't seen this addressed before so I can use some imput. Thanks, Jolene.

Yes, it's happened to me a few times. The soreness usually goes away after a few days. You haven't been taken for a ride and sometimes it does appear worse at one session than another. A couple of times my face looked really bad after one particular session but it settled down after about 3 or 4 days.

My friend used to get exactely that as well. I didn't suffer as much so I'm probably not as sensitive as her. It's not uncommon.

The lumps are a good thing it means that the laser is working. They are the result of the follicles under the skin being burnt and damaged, that causes the lumpy redness. That's how laser works I never experienced extreme pain just discomfort, but I do know the more the hairs regress and die the less painful.

I am glad to hear that, maybe I was just overly nervous that day. She uses 2 attachments-one feels prickly and the other is the "Zapper." The zapper is the one that caused the breakout. thanks to everyone who replied, i feel better now. Jolene
