I've been a long time lurker on this forum, but this is my first post. I had a full FFS done with rhinoplasty done on August 25th. I know it is normal for swelling to occur, but my nose seems off and it is very scary and causing me lots of anxiety over this.

I was wondering for those who have went through FFS or had a rhinoplasty is it normal for my nose to look like this after a rhinoplasty? It looks very piggish and upturned. Looking at it right now is causing me dread. I hated my old nose, and the 2 biggest reasons I wanted FFS was to fix my nose and slim down my jawline. As much as I hated my nose before, the way it looks right now is even worse. I hope this is not how the final result will be for my nose.

And this is how my nose looks now about 2 weeks post-op. Is this suppose to be normal how it looks at this point? It looks so piggish and upturned, and the tip is too high? I know at this point my face is suppose to still be swollen like a balloon, but what about the nose? Will it fix itself as the swelling goes down? I'm so scared at this point.

At this point, I don't have a clue what the final nose will look like. Most of the swelling will be gone at the 2-3 month mark but I could still detect a small amount of swelling after a year in my nose. Two weeks is very early to judge the final outcome so I would give it more time.

There's so much swelling it's not possible to tell. At least some of the "piggy nose" will be cause be the swelling in your lips and cheeks, as well as what is going on with your nose.

You'll need to wait until the sweeling has come down a lot more before any judgement can be made..

Thank you girls for your answers. I also just spoke with the doctor's team that handled the whole FFS and they said give it time and because the swelling on the whole of the face and nose nose causes the tip to pull up to make it look pig like. The doctor himself will call me tomorrow for a follow up call to make sure everything is okay. They all said the same thing as you all did; the tip of the nose will start to go down, and nostrils will get smaller in proportion to the swelling reduction and to continue to do my nose massages. 

This allays my worries. I spent so many years wanting to get FFS and I finally was able to be afford it. I was close to tears thinking this would be my final outcome on my nose since the nose was one of the primary factors for FFS in the first place. I think I"ll just hide away or cover my head in a scarf until things start to settle down.

I had a rhinoplasty (and nothing else) done earlier this year.  Two weeks after my surgery, my nose definitely looked piggish.  Like you, I was pretty worried.  But the doctor assured me that it's normal.  He said it would get better with time.  Sure enough, it did!  After one month, I finally felt like my nose looked pretty ok.  But even after one month, it still had a long ways to go.

Now it's 8 months since my rhinoplasty, and I'm extremely satisfied with how my nose looks.  I couldn't be happier.  It's a big difference from how my nose looked in the first month after surgery.  But I know it will be a year or even 2 years before the final shape of my nose is settled.  That's normal.

You had other surgeries done in addition to your nose, so your entire face is swollen, which also affects your nose.  Give it time, and try not to worry about it.  It takes many months for your nose to settle on its final shape.

After seeing what you all have posted, and what my doctor said yesterday, I feel at ease and no longer have any anxiety whatsoever.

Someone PM'd me suggesting to say what I had done, as well as who did it to be more helpful for answers to my questions.

I had a rhinoplasty, jawline shave, brow reduction, forehead smoothing, lip lift as well as fat grafting for the lift, and cheek implants done. These were done by Doctor Zukowski on August 25th.

Dr Zukowski is a very charismatic doctor and his staff was great. I have no complaints about him and was very appreciative of him and his staffs' helpfulness in regards in how they treated me and how they answered my questions. I really look forward to how I will look when all the healing and swelling has gone down.
