Hi my lovelies,

Blood results taken six weeks after my bilateral orchiectomy. Bear in mind that estrogen was suspended two weeks prior to surgery before gradually resuming and I no longer take anti androgens.

The tests were on a 12 hour fast including my meds so estrogen is a trough reading.

Comments massively appreciated! I see the GiC in a fortnight to discuss this amongst many other things (incl full GRC!):

Serum FSH 9.6 iu/L
Serum LH 7.6 iu/L
Serum oestradiol 277 pmol/L
Serum prolactin 185 miu/L
Serum testosterone 1 nmol/L
Serum sex hormone binding glob 73.3 nnol/L
Free androgen index 1.4%
Serum TSH (DAH) level 2.1 mu/L

Liver function:
Serum ALT 42 iu/L
Total alkaline phosphatase 47 iu/L
Serum total bilirubin 13 umol/L
Serum albumin 42 g/L
Serum sodium 137 mmol/L
Serum potassium 4.1 mmol/L
Serum creatinine 72 umol/L
Serum urea 4.7 mmol/L

When I get my results they always come with the normal range indicated so I can just ignore all the normal ones and look up the rest. I'm still down as male so there's quite a few of abnormal results of course.

Ah yes. I'm registered female so the ranges I've been given are female ones. I haven't put those here because I'm interested in what transitioning females on the forum think of these levels x

Looks about right to me. Estrogen looks fine too, even though you suspended for awhile. Since its been 6 weeks I'd say it's normal, but not sure what your other tests in the past has shown?

Good question! Last test on 14/05/16 was:

Estradiol 74.2 ph/mL
LH 4.6 mIU/ml
FSH 0.57 mIU/ml
Testosterone 458 ng/dL
Prolactin 14.7 ng/mL

Just calculating those T and E levels again across the different measurements the T looks to b 5% of what it was in May  :o 1 nmol/L is 28.8 ng/dL which is 1/20th of what it was in May. Goes to show: whip off those pesky testicles and it sure drops the testosterone  :D

The Estradiol is unchanged though. 277 pmol/L is the same as 74 pg/ml and that's a little low isn't it? Anyone?

I get new implants when my E drops below 800 pmol/L, but that seems to be higher than most use. Feels good though.

I am 51 pg/ml for estradiol and 733 pg/ml for total estrogen. That is the high end of the menopause range but my breast started aching about 2 months in and for the last 7 months have continued to ache. Estradiol with a normal transition dosage would be 100-200 but without T or blockers in the mix it seems like a little goes a long way.

That's really encouraging Dena: thank you. I guess, too, mine was a 12-hour fasting trough reading. My T level has clearly sunk to almost non existent.

Thank you for sharing that, it has really helped.

Hi Rachel,

I would love hear about what physical effects/changes you experience from the change of next few months please?

Cheers,
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I will do.

T levels are almost zero now, with estrogen lifting. Breasts are gradually growing again too after the pre-op estradiol fast. I have some libido which has pleasantly surprised me.

FFS next  :D

If you feel fine, experience good overall feminization, have energy, can function well, have libido, overall health is good, then all is good. :)
