I have something of an obsession with PC RPGS (mainly from the '90s) :).

My all-time favourites are Fallout, Planescape:Torment and Arcanum, and I'm rather fond of the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic games as well.

I haven't bought a new game in ages though, well ever since my DVD drive on my PC exploded, my Xbox exploded, I gave my PS2 away, and I got the Pokemon game for the DS (lingering obsession, cant see myself getting over that one any time soon).

fallout was a fantastic game, as was the sequel. I'm really looking forward to bethesda's fallout 3, i just hope they don't screw it up.

I enjoyed all the rpgs black isle studios put out and i was disappointed when they shut down.

Ah I understood it to mean 'only' board games.

I'm a fan of console RPGs and MMORPGs, namely Final Fantasy series (1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 11, Tactics), Star Ocean (2, 3), and others.

Hmm, I wonder how many people here play online? Maybe we can make guilds.

I apparently have a knack for finding gender-variant people in online games. I played Ragnarok Online private servers and World of Warcraft private servers, found a crossdresser and a trans woman, just by chatting in private messages (aka whispers), randomly. Found a trans man on an online chess site, well more like he found me :P

I'm weird, knowledgeable and open, as well as open-minded, maybe that helps in people confiding.

I cried when Black Isle closed.

I would have Tim Cain's children if biology allowed, even if he is kind of funny looking :).

Kinda interesting to see the spread of players and genres. I was thinking of starting Final Fantasy online, any comments on this game?

1. Counterstrike is my favorite. Total I have nearly 9000 hours played (I'm ex-CAL).
2. Crysis. A darned good thing I have SLI (duel video cards). A beautiful game. Single player is awsome.
3. Unreal Tournament 99, 2003, 2004. A great first person series.
4. Redneck Rampage. An oldie but a goodie. :P
5. Quake -The name says it all.

As you can tell I'm into FPS games. The only other game outside of these might be Call of Duty 4 or something from the Myst series.

Final Fantasy has always been good as far as I know but it has been a very long time since I played that and there are like 5 billion versions out. Oblivion is pretty good from what I heard.

Online RPG's:  Started with Star Wars Galaxies, played that for about two years.  Went to World of Warcraft after that.  got me a 58 warrior.  I open my account back up every now and then because I have two good friends that play who are in different parts of the country.  I've recently started playing Everquest II.  I did find an obscure article about someone starting up an online game based on the Fallout Series by 2010.  I loved the first two Fallout games, and since Bethesda Software bought the franchise I can only hope they keep it great.  The new Fallout 3 game was made using the Oblivion game engine, meaning it will most likely offer a first person view, which will be a crazy switch up from the top down view of the old games.  I only wonder if Fallout 3 for the PC will be released with the Construction Set that bethesda always releases with it's Oblivion esque games.  Once you read the tutorial on that thing you can literally go into the program and make all your missions/clothing/weapons.  It's pretty neat.

I get my first person gratification online with Battlefield 2 everynow and then as well.

I loved Call of Duty 2 and Bioshock for my 360.

I did play Final Fantasy online for a little while.  I think it was around the time I was playing Star Wars Galaxies.  FF online just didn't seem as colorful or vivid as Star Wars Galaxies, so I  didn't keep playing.

Cindyh:  I must say Im jealous, I'm still chuggin along with ->-bleeped-<- cards in my computers right now.  I thought I had a pretty good set up until I installed Crysis and it recommended low settings :-(.

WoW had a GLBT guild.   Blizzard made them go away.  I forget the statement they made.  Something about not wanting real life issues in the game.  If they allowed a GLBT guild then they would have to allow all interest group guilds.  They didn't want to go there and didn't think it was good for the game.

..... but if we kept it quiet....   >:D
