Partly because I want to wear a bra at work. I normally wear a sports bra. I've been on hormones for six months, and when I wear a normal bra, it's noticeable that I have boobs.

I work in retail, and I'm pretty active, stocking things and such, and I could use the extra padding from a bra. It offers better protection for my sensitive nips. But I'm worried about whether I want to be the only transgender woman in the store. I have to supervise guys too, and I'm worried about how they would react to me coming out.

I'd really love to not have to keep two different lives going. I just want to be my real, female self. And you have to live full-time as female to be eligible for surgery, too. But there are haters.

Dilemma...sigh

There are points in your life where you have to put it all on the table and roll the dice. Things have changed from when I transitioned. You may have more protection and people are more aware/accepting of us. Yes, you will need to educate others and you will need to prove as a female you are just as capable but this is something that CIS women do every day.

Your best bet is to get ahold of your HR department. They could help plan either a meeting or way to get you out there as your true self, with the comfort of knowing they would not do anything until you plan to start things in motion. Or at least that's how it should be.
Besides in any case of anyone giving you any problem of you being yourself, then they are at fault and should not have let their personal problems into the work space, and then you have full support by HR and your own superiors, and then whoever has issues should be able to be reprimanded for their action or personal opinion.
Either which way there should be protections for you in all the right places to avoid most confrontations that would come from within the company, as well as, if you have any troubles with anyone else while you are in the workplace.

You may be the only woman on your job, but think about it this way: you have plenty of company out there. Somebody's always got to be the first.

Downside of coming out on the job: you'll get misgendered a lot because people will see you as the "old" self

Upside of coming out on the job: you have relationships established that will mostly remain intact

Unless there is a lot of homophobic and misogynistic shop talk all the time your coworkers might just surprise you in being surprisingly cool with it. Also if you're the only girl you'll have the women's room to yourself.

IDK - it is possible to go around with a B cup in guy mode (6ft, 145 lbs) and not "Come out" even though you need to wear a bra. It's all in how you present yourself. If you are tight fitting tee short sort of person... well, there may be looks. If you are a baggy clothes sort of person (or can be one) then NP

IDK, I understand so much about work and having the two lives. I'm really not sure how to come out there. Most of the
people I work with are guys and I know there is a lot of stares and talk because of the clothes
I wear, shoes and touch of makeup. The bathroom is definitely an issue for me but my boss is a woman
and I think she will be supportive. The whole thing does scare me.

Sooner or later you won't be able to hide it and then you'll have no control when people start assuming and its not official.
