Rather than necro and old post, I thought I would ask if anyone else has had this experience..

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 1997 or so, and I've been on ritalin ever since.  In the last week and a half, I managed to fail to schedule in time to go get it refilled, but I've noticed no issues with focus at all.. which is weird, because a year ago I'd be a mess.   Anyone else noticed a reduction in, or absence of ADHD symptoms during transition?  I already have found out that I no longer need an anti-depressant... maybe I can eliminate another pill as well.

*hugs*

transnztal

When I was growing up I was diagnosed with several things depression ADD ADHD OCD etc etc I was on medication all the time. When I graduated high school I started transitioning at 19 once I got hormones and started transition (not even full time) I felt relief and no longer needed any meds I focused better with no social anxiety ocd or depression. Sometimes doctors will diagnose someone of several things because they can't pin point the actual problem. I'm 21 now full time SRS soon my mental health went from terrible to amazing I couldn't even walk into a room now I love to. Mental illnesses can be caused by environment or genetics or both so sometimes it's your environment that makes it worse.
