back hair. That is really tough to reach to get rid of by any method.
One thing I've done is learn hatha yoga to be flexible enough to reach my arms behind my back when waxing. And using a big mirror.
Also, I sometimes have my friend do my back. But for the times when I have to get it done NOW, and she isn't available, I can do my own back. Although it isn't the most efficient when I do it myself,
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

I use an ancient rotating spring Epilady.  I wanted to buy this new model for Christmas
but didn't have the necessary cash.  I've read good reviews, it's supposed to be quiet.

It may be quiet...but when I use one..I am not!

Ouch!

I'm lucky that my body hair takes a long time to grow, is spaced out, and pretty fine. I admit, I get lazy and wont shave my legs for weeks. LOL (then again, it's winter, so I don't wear skirts during the winter... I'm cold enough as it is!)

Pretty much same.

I've had no electro or laser in the face, and shaving works fine, no one can tell (so yeah I didn't really have much to start with). No armpit, no chest, no back hair. Legs/thighs/arms hair is more or less normal (I don't shave arms, I do shave legs). I shave pubic hair by choice.

I've never used an epilator, and can't (and never could before) afford electrolysis. Laser risks the chance of not working completely on me. My hair is not really dark.

One thing I haven't seen anyone address is back hair. That is really tough to reach to get rid of by any method.  Anyone have any tips?  Or am I the only one trying to deal with it?

I wouldn't use it on your face though.  The follicles are so deep that you would probably get massive amounts of ingrown hairs.  Not pretty.  As far as electrolysis is concerned I bought my own blend machine and did most of it myself.  you just have to be really carefull when you first start and also have good hand eye coordination.  If you go that route make sure to read Electrolysis, Thermolysis, and the Blend  by A.R. Hinkel who by the way made the blend machine I bought on EBay.  I paid around $600 for it and it was well worth it.  Its paid for itself many times over.

I got a Braun 5270 Silk Epil X`elle about 3 weeks ago. I have used it quite a bit. It did break a lot of chest hair. Worked perfectily on my upper arm and parts of my fore arm. It was horribly painful on the chest and even worse around the nipple. It made tears come to my eyes. I did use it on part of my face I think my chest was more painful.

If did use this on my whole face would this make laser less effective? I'm doing laser soon as I have the cash which should be with in the next six weeks if I watch my money.

oh bought the Braun here for under $60

From a purely tactile point of view, I would prefer waxing/sugaring over a mechanical epilator. Why? Because it's the old ripping-off-the-bandage syndrome: the quicker it's over with the better. Wax or sugar clears one big patch in less than one second, versus the epilator which sounds like an evilly slow torture device by comparison.

this would be way more effective then waterboarding :icon_suspicious:

it has taken my upper chest hair the longest to be trained but it is getting there.  you can really tell the difference between a hair that was previously pulled to one that broke. the pulled ones zip out. the broken ones remind me of how bad this really hurt when i started.

Yes beth electrolysis really works, but DONT buy one of those crappy "vector no needle deals"  they are a complete waste of money.  I have had good results from DIY electrolysis and the only scarring I have is from when I went to a "professional" and had my face fried with thermolysis.  The swelling was awful.  Needless to say I didn't go back.  Stick with the blend it works.
As for laser I think it really depends on your hair type and the laser itself, wavelength, wattage etc.  My hair is almost entirely blond so i decided to go with the time tested old fashioned electrolysis.
