"MSNBC host Rachel Maddow spoke about vice-president elect Mike Pence and his anti-gay policies, and it's heartbreaking.
Maddow is no stranger to the difficult process that led up to the legalisation of same-sex marriage, and the daunting reality of Mike Pence being the VP made her incredibly emotional on her show. "

That's really scary and Pence was just put in charge of Trump's transition team.

well, hopefully the reality  proves to be far different than what seems to be the case and yes this is quite scary for the LGBTQ... community and all the LGBTQ... news papers are quite concerned.

Ben Carson is a vice chair, and Ken Blackwell is back, too, leading on domestic policy.  He's a senior research fellow at the Family Research Council, promoters of conversion therapy.

Quote"Well, the fact is, you can choose to restrain that compulsion. And so I think in fact you don't have to give in to the compulsion to be homosexual. I think that's been proven in case after case after case...I believe homosexuality is a compulsion that can be contained, repressed or changed...[T]hat is what I'm saying in the clearest of terms."
- Ken Blackwell
We've also got Ken Meese and Kay Cole James, a former senior VP at Family Research Council.

Not that any of this will in any way whatsoever actually affect any domestic policies.  Although personnel is policy...

I don't think the next several years will exactly be a bed of roses for those of us not in the mainstream.  While I'd like to wait and see, I fear what situation my inaction might put me in.  I do believe that being proactive in the face of a potentially hostile situation is a prudent course of action.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Well if Ben Carson is in charge he will create jobs with an expedition to Egypt to find the grain storage silos that he said are hidden in the pyramids.  We as a country are fortunate to have such mental giants leading us in these uncertain times.

Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being....  - Dan Barker

Vice president is basically a spare tire...waiting around in the dark until the real one pops.

Seriously, anything they try will have to clear Federal judges, most of whom are friendlies (imho).

Personally, I've seen too much fear-mongering from several Left agitprops...it's almost like all they have is to deal in fear.

Fear, anger, hate...violence is not far away. Try to find another way of expressing concern...like pointing out irresponsible behaviors by anti-LGBTQ people when they happen. We can insist on civil behavior.

Just a thought.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

There are currently 103 federal judicial vacancies waiting to be filled, with 59 confirmations that have been awaiting Congressional action.  I hope for the best also, but I see this next four years as a sea change in terms of the role of the courts in protecting minority interests.  (I would love to be wrong!).
