I got a new wig I really like overall how it looks, but the ends (it is a long wig) get very tangled and look a little more coarse than the rest.  Any maintenance or repairs solutions anyone can share would be appreciated.

If it was purchased from a wig shop, they can provide you with information and the products to care for the wig. If it's an inexpensive wig, there may be a limit to what can be done with it.

Like human hair, you need products that are designed to clean and condition the wig. I haven't used one in years so that information will need to be provided by somebody else.

My wife suggested a rattail comb to comb it,my sister n law says wash it in dish soap and let it dry.

Mix a mild liquid soap in a bowl with two quarts of water, and gently lower the wig into that.  Let it soak for 5 minutes.  Gently lift it out and drain for a minute, then gently lower it into a rinse bowl with just a couple quarts of clean water.  Again, lift and drain.

Don't agitate or wring the wig out.  That just tangles it and may damage the cap.

Set the wig on a wig stand, a simple frame that lets air circulate around the wig.  I usually just set these on a bath towel and let the wig drip.

After the wig has drained for several minutes, get a spray pump bottle of wig conditioner, which you can find online or from a wig shop (I use the HairUWear conditioner).  Spray it fairly liberally on the wig, making sure you get the whole thing.  Let the wig dry on the stand for 24 hours.  DO NOT BRUSH YET!

After 24 hours of drying time, gently brush the wig out using a wig brush, a brush with LOOPS of soft plastic, not bristles, that's really coarse. (Again, online or a wig shop.)  The tangles in my synthetic wigs just vanish with this treatment.

I was thinking about buying a wig from like Amazon and there are no wig shops that I know of in Montana where I live and my head is pretty big and I wear an 8 size baseball cap and I can never seem to find what the sizes of heads wig can fit. I contacted a TG Boutique on the east coast and they said that their wigs would fit my head but they wouldn't tell me which ones. I feel so lost because I can never have the patience to grow out my hair (former military and I get all freaked out with long hair) but if I ever do transition then I will grow it out no matter the head games in my head.

I have a size 8 head too (actually a bit more if my hair is grown out).  I find that two of the wigs I bought online fit, even though its snuggly.  The nice thing is the synthetic wigs go for as little as $10 (the two I bought from there were like $13 each and I bought one from a store for like $100).  The ones I purchased have a fair amount of stretch to them, they might not last forever - but I'm okay with that because I was experimenting with looks.  Hope this helps.
