Hello all.  First time post, and hope this is the right place to post it.  I'm not at the stage where I want to begin MTF process, but I would like to lower my libido significantly -- sort of a test run not to feel so male.  Is this possible?  I've read about a few things like Monk's Pepper that might work.  Any thoughts?  Thanks so much.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Testosterone is pretty hard to knock out unless your levels are naturally low. Blockers dosage are pretty strong, well above the levels for the medication when they are used for their normal function. Even in FTMs, the normal testosterone levels they use are sufficient to suppress the female reproductive cycle. In treatment, sometimes high enough estrogen levels will suppress testosterone but most requires a blocker drug. This is the reason why it has been difficult to  develop a male contraceptive where as we have had several female contraceptives over the last 50 or so years.

I am very wary of natural medications because I  have seen a few cases where there were very serious side effects. Natural medications don't receive the testing and as such, side effects aren't well documented.

I would suggest that even if you aren't ready to start the transition, you consider a medical blocker and possibly combine it with a low dose estrogen. We have members who have remained in this state for years without transitioning and the few changes that happened were welcome as it made them appear younger.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.
